Back on topic. I had all kinds of issues with getting TH1 to work on my WINTEL machine and it was ALL the PACE anti piracy software. Simone and the folks over at TH1 handled my issue very professionally and even though I couldn't use TH1 fully, I did appreciate their effort.
Well, I decided to buy an iLOK key ($40 for my own dongle, who thought this SCHEME up, Tony Soprano?) for some other software that needed the iLOK to run and decided just for HA HAs to try and reauthorized TH1 with the iLOK instead of the software authorization file thing.
I can report that this fixed my runtime issues with TH1 and I was able to use it in my recent project. I have AT as well and frankly, TH1 sounds alot better on some tracks compared to AT but I have more options with AT so both SIMS have a place in my toolbox.
I saw the tease post by SIMONE and see that MORE features will soon be released/announced at NAMM which can only make TH1 better than it already is. I hope this will be a FREE upgrade to the registered users.
Now, that I have it working as a VST within SONAR, I have another issue. If I tweak on the FLY, I get audio dropouts and sometimes worse, SONAR crashes (I am using Sonar's latest release which I think is 8.02).
I am using ASIO drivers with Creamware DSP soundcards and I have the latest release installed (I think it is 1.01). All my other hundreds of plugins are working perfectly on this puter which is running under XP SP2.
Any insights and/or have anyone experience these same crashes in SONAR.

And has totally negated any need for an amp sim
Do people who have amp modelers not have amps? The overwhelming majority of modeler owners have at least 1 or 2 amps and have owned many more through the years.
So dude..if amps negated anything..there would be no modeler sales

I'd only partially agree. Most players own bigger amps, so recording them in your home studio environment becomes a critical thing due to the required level you need to make those amps sound nice. The Blackstar however features a 5W only power amp section (plus a speaker sim on the line out), so it's a lot easier to record - hence it could be used sort of easier to replace amp sims.johnrrrrrr wrote: Do people who have amp modelers not have amps? But generally, you're right. I use both amp sims and real amps for various reasons and I'm absolutely fine with that.

Yeah, people can't always crank their amp up loud for reasons uncontrolled by their living situation. When I can't, I make sure I have plenty of other options to fix my tone addiction for the time being.
I was metalifuxx (member since 2004) but I changed something in my profile and now can't get back into my original account.

Forget cranking up an amp, what about the PIA of recording one? One of my gripes about people who cut down software is they're always talking about how it doesn't emulate an amp. They're right. They don't. They emulate a great recording of an amp, which can be a damn tricky thing to do even in a good studio environment and how many of us here have access to one of those?metalifuxx3 wrote:Yeah, people can't always crank their amp up loud for reasons uncontrolled by their living situation. Lots of stuff. New amp models and new stomps, and a new IR loading module as well. Plus, I think some things related to GUI.
