- Sorry for the off topic question -
Since MAX 5 upgrade price is the same for every product above $99, I'm thinking about selling AT4 (I also have Modo Bass so I guess it's ok) but if I want to sell my AT4 licence and 3 Collections, do I need to buy a 'License Transfer Credit' for each collection too?

A couple more questions/thoughts on AT5 for Peter:

The marketing material says the new VIR technology provides "an experience that’s virtually indistinguishable from mic’ing [sic] a real cabinet."

Does VIR sound "virtually indistinguishable" from miking a real cabinet, or is this claim really only talking about the user experience being like moving mics around a real cabinet?

Is the sonic experience going to sound noticeably more realistic with VIR in AmpliTube 5 from AmpliTube 4 in a static head to head comparison of any given mic position?

Can we get some audio example comparing the same audio clips processed through the same setups in AmpliTube 4 and AmpliTube 5?

The other thing I want to talk about is the use of stomps in the rack and visa versa. The GUIs for that is pretty awkward. It appears the stomps are not directly accessible in the rack and are frozen in some kind of cryogenic chamber with an edit button.

Why not just make separate rack and stomp GUIs for every processor, and ditch the cryogenic chambers?

Oooh, Line 6 implemented my “favorite module presets” feature request idea for Helix 3.0. So easy to make presets and your rig! Take note IK.

In The Big Guitar Amp Sim Roundup + Review by Craig Anderton; I did a mini review of AmpliTube 4 and for the interface I remarked:

"Overall it is great, I love the general layout and appreciate the Insert effects capability. I just wish it was resizeable and that the “routing” options had a visual component."

With AmpliTube 5 having a resizeable interface with visual routing options, I couldn't ask for more! :)

I reckon so, and remember that some purchases may not be transferrable anyway. The best thing to do is contact Sales/Account Support and can look at your Account and give you a definitive answer.

Depends if you are transferring them all to a single person. IK allow transferring multiple licenses to one recipient with a single transfer credit.

I think this is new. shows AT 4 sims in the GUI. Shows Mesa and Orange that I use quite often. Looking forward to the IMSTA thing to see more.

It would make sense since it's the same product but Darkstar is right, I'll ask IK support to be sure.

Are you sure? I did not know that . I think that you would need to contact Sales / Account Support to arrange that.

That's how it worked when I transferred a bunch of Amplitube products to someone (and yeah I checked with IK support fiirst).

I hope so because 24€ for each product is overkill, worse than Plugin Alliance policy

Another "How It's Made" video with a soundtrack and no actual product demonstration. Utterly useless.

My guess is once AT 5 gets released you will have a flood of product demos. IKM know how to sell en mass. Given the dead silence of their usual suspects on forums, I am pretty sure they are ramping up their social media influencers to try to do a push for BF. They will try to get in on the BF action for sure.

I don't think we're going to see AmpliTube 5 until the very end of the year. Most certainly IK isn't going to put a new flagship product in a Black Friday sale.

I'd be surprised if we see AmpliTube 5 released before Christmas. Knowing IK, they'll probably miss New Year's and we'll see AmpliTube 5 sometime in January.

This was what I was wondering as well. The claim is that it sounds better, but I suspect it sounds more realistic in terms of moving from one position to another, but I don't see why this technology would sound any better than an IR at the exact same position. Increased resolution gives more control, but doesn't increase accuracy at a given position.
