Something only becomes generic if enough people like it. So it must be good.

Conversely, just because someone claims something has "soul and hearblood" doesn't mean it's any good.

I'd rather listen to a "generic" great song than to a bad song with "soul and heartblood".

I dont want to turn this into a discussion about musicology, but there are artists that put more attention to sound design and details than others. If you ask Youtube about Jon Hopkins vs. Deadmau5 or Apparat vs Armin van Buuren, then the answer is obvious - you'll see it in the click counter. If you ask a musicologist then the answer will be different :)

Again: no offense! Vital is nice! I'm just not that enthusiastic about the filters and the overall sound. We dont have to agree on that.

I feel the same way, to me it sounds amazing.

That doesn't have anything to do with 'soul and heartblood'. You are talking about generic music with (technically) better sound.

Every good musicologist will tell you that classical music is the only music worth listening to

Fortunately, the world isn't run by musicologists. You can base your taste on what musicologists say and ignore your own heart and soul. I believe music is about emotions and not mental masturbation. But to each, their own. No offense!

I'm leaving this thread, before it gets philosophical ... or esotheric. Sorry

liquidsound wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 5:34 amIt's all there. The $20 is the same as the others in terms of features.
6 Envelopes and 8 LFO which they get added as you use them as in Serum
How do you know that? Do you have access to all of them? Admittedly I can't find anything on the site to confirm what was said here but I'm in no hurry and the worst that can happen is I might have to pay $25 instead of $20. Hardly the end of the world.

I was watching a run through video just now and it does look pretty cool. Visually it's not a million miles away from Phaseplant and the way it greys out unused oscillators and filters gives it a similar modular vibe.
if you are asking about the features being all there for all the version, I’m reporting what I heard from all the videos made by the beta testers and the guy in the video link which he has worked with the developer and several statements in the long Discord thread.

About the 6 Envelopes and 8 LFO is because I’m m using it, and boy, I’m using it!
I was going to buy Pigment on sale but now I’m getting overload with this one.

Cautiously excited that i might be able to figure out the workings of this synth, but, moreso, very excited to hear the creations from inevitable One Synth Challenge!!

Those who congregate here seem to have the ability to show how every possible synth has a D-50 or TB-303 level world of unusually expressive possibilities within them!
