If you are like me and you find the PolyMAX GUI terribly complicated and difficult to use, as it has more knobs and parameters than all other synth plugins COMBINED, you might be interested to know that the Wayford skins are now on sale:

Wayford's skins disable one of the most unique functionalities of the GUI: the light-up LEDs from the envelopes.

I'll say it honestly, one of the reasons I made the skins is because I didn't like the light-up LEDs. To restore the original ones (which btw fit both skins perfectly), you can just not copy over the switch led file.

I've tried not to copy over the led .png but the light of enevelopes stay off.
Should I restore also the bundle.js to make it working again with Your skins?

I grabbed it, It looks good, and the presets are nice! But losing the useful envelope leds with the skin is an odd choice and really disappointing.

The freebie plugins don't use iLok Cloud, likely due to some combination of a) iLok Cloud may have fees because of the ongoing server costs to manage the cloud session that UA don't want to pay on a free plugin, and b) UA are less paranoid about piracy on freebies for obvious reasons, therefore are happier to use the less secure machine authorisation method.

I doubt they have any plans to go machine authorisation for the paid-for native plugins any time soon.

just installed polymax and the only option for the iLok location was the cloud. it wouldn't let me make any other choice.

edit: oh it's cloud or physical iLok but no computer auth

also, does the UA connect app launch every time a UA plug in is in use? fckn dumb if so. i turned it off in settings so it doesn't launch at start up but generally annoying...

edit: oh, it will let me auth to a physical iLok but those are the only options.

I'm guessing PIB got new licenses from UA that are machine licensed but still had some leftover cloud licensed licenses left over from before, which you got. It's only a guess and I don't have much information to back that up, aside from personal experience doing these kinds of deals with companies.

contact support, they will change your license to machine auth.

if you purchase any UADx plugins from Plugin Boutique or the UA website or anywhere for that matter you won't get a license that's capable of Machine Authorization. Only free promotional plugins get a unique license that's capable of Machine Authorization.

i did quiz them about making the other plugins machine auth capable, but the question just bounced off them, i doubt it's gonna happen any time soon.

More annoying is the UA Connect app launching when instantiating polyMax. I assume it does a quick license check or something. It’s dumb. I sent them a message about it. There’s got to be better way

I just stop it from running - renaming the app is the easiest way. Works fine.

Yeah, to me it is way too limited...

Any word on MIDI learn? I have it, but I don't use it ever because it doesn't have this and I don't wanna resort to Cubase's awful Quick Controls.
