Many thanks to you, Sheaf, for giving us some news.
This could be seen as a life lesson, some recall for users : behind each software, each new hardware too, there are real human beings, a life, a personnal story.
It's obviously a bit awkward to ask about your health when you're actually interested in his project. I dare say Sheaf doesn't mind. Let's also consider the enthusiasm for such a rare software program that will see the light of day in due course.
There's no sense of urgency; the best things always take time, and contributing to a historical heritage in this way is truly noble and great.
THANK YOU, Sheaf.

Well I don't. It could be anything.EvilDragon wrote: Mon Apr 21, 2025 5:58 pm You're all operating on the assumption that sheaf's condition was caused by prolonged computer use, which might not be the case...
The problem with such conditions is that therapists and medication rarely help. They only temporarily reduce the symptoms.
You would have to have a doctor spend at least one week with you, sleep with you, go into bathroom with you, watch you work, or walk.
That's not very likely, so you have figure out by yourself which position(s) produce the pain.
Only when these positions are corrected, the pain goes away without medication, and nerves, tissues, cartilage, tendons, whatever, slowly regenerate in the following months and years

So happy to hear that you are getting the medical treatment you need. Thank you for sharing an update with us. I can say from myself that you are definitely appreciated not just for the potential instrument but for all the enthusiasm you have created surrounding the history of the original. It's nice reading other musicians hands on experiences with the SY/TG series. Would love if it could help motivate me to finally repair my own SY-99...lol. Please take care, Sheaf and thank you, again....

Just a quick note: I'm 99% recovered and fully back on track when it comes to work.
Only 19 samples to go (though I might want to revisit/redo a couple after that) and then I'm ready to send out the beta.

Looking very forward to that. By the way, in case you missed it, here is a KSEQ to mid converter. https://github.com/bzeiss/kseq2midi. With that, you can test the original sy77 sequences in a modern DAW with your plugin (assuming you somehow support the sy77 sysex for the programs. I forgot whether you did that or not).

Great to hear you are feeling better!
There's a SY77 for sale locally for 450 euros.. it's very tempting but I have absolutely no space, nor any money!

Please include me in the beta. D.R. Goettel popularized the SY77 for me in my younger years and I've always pined away for one.
