At the least, write Allen tomorrow. He may be able to do something for you.

Actually, it is already passed 300. There's a glitch with the main group buy page's counter which is being looked at. Sorry about that. Weekend fun stuff... right when you think it's okay to drive somewhere or lay in bed sick (guess which one is me)... it will be solved tonight some time and the real numbers will show. At the moment it appears to be 309. But I am not sure if that's including the Paypal ones or not. Anyway, we'll find out later. I owe T-Willy an epoint for his Star Wars win. I thought I'd be feeling better and chime in but man I am just beat! I have this MASSIVE sneeze that really takes all the energy out. That and the coughing... break out the violin. Sucks but we've all been there. I'll be back in action soon.

309 and counting? We didn't get to celebrate!

:tu: :hyper: :D

Okay, I'm ready to go on now.

I have bought into both group buys, and now I am considering getting some better edrums to play the sounds with. (I currently have a very cheap ION drum kit that I bought from craigslist to practice on.) But I don't have a lot of money to spend. Any recommendations on what to get? Like I said, don't have a lot of money to spend, so I want to get the best bang (no pun intended) out of my buck. I don't really care about the sounds that come with the edrums, since I will midi them up to my computer to play the group buy sounds. But good midi-triggering therefore matters more. What are you e-drummers out there using? thanks!

I am still out of it. But it appears our web guys have fixed the problem. Apparently people couldn't join the main GB for the past two days but the Paypal one worked. The main GB has been fixed which has the master counter and all should be back to where it is supposed to be. Sorry it looked like nothing was happening. You guys did break 300 I think even late Friday. Congrats! When I am feeling better I will come in and talk about the extras and the next goal and the swag prizes... alright, back to sleep...

Hey Megadude

I have the Yamaha DTXplorer, which is okay, but I wouldn't recommend it. The pads (rubber), kick pedal/pad and high hat pedal all seem okay (in fact the kick and hi-hat pedal are the best bits of the kit), but the brain does not provide any re-mapping capability and the output is not standard GM. As a result, to re-map anything, you need to use an additional bit of software which you then route into your DAW, to change the mappings on your drums. With that said, I have explored just replacing the brain (the drums are quite playable). I beleive the DTXtreme is better.

I have played (on many occasions) my friends Roland TD10 (was the top of the range Roland kit about 12 years ago) and it is awesome, but has a crappy kick pedal/pad (we have used it with my Yamaha kick which sort of completes the package).

From the kits around now, I think the Roland kits are quite good, but I think the TD9 series is as low as I would go (the smaller "Compact" kits have an awkward looking layout). Not sure where you are but the TD9 is about $3700 Aussie Dollars (Just shortof $4K USD) which, to me, sounds like a huge commitment.

Don't know if this helps, but my 2 cents...Cheers and good luck. :D

So all is working correctly, and hopefully Squids is on the mend. We can now get back on track to 400. There is still plenty of time. :D
