That's not true at all. We rarely if ever delete threads. Sorry - but I beg to differ. The tone in recent sonar x forum threads is fine - if you a) don't air any misgivings re: cakewalk or sonar, or b)strike some "senior" members as not "one of the good guys" (their words). Members and staff are way, way, way too sensitive to criticism - and haven't learned that the best way to deal with "trolls" is not to feed them. Pulling threads? Really? Frankly, I believe this vicious cheerleader forum atmosphere contributes to the bad rep sonar has in some quarters as an "unprofessional" DAW, which, of course, is ridiculous. BUT - it's one of the reasons I ditched X2a for Cubase 7.

So that bad reputation that you agree is ridiculous is one of the reasons you left Sonar? That statement pretty much sums you up.vespesian wrote:AROSSA [Cakewalk] wrote: So keep this all in mind when you read these posts. Yeah, most of the cable new shows seem to have their little isolated rigidly partisan bubbles.spikey wrote:The myth is you thinking Fox has myths compared to the libidiots @ CNN...
Anyway, his point was that once - some - people decide something is true they just dig in, rarely changing their mind no matter what the real truth actually is. Especially if it means being wrong on the net in front of thousands of peanut gallery observers.
There's no such thing as "The Definitive Internet Sticky" that can be referenced to find pure facts. Everything is always up for personal interpretation.
Anyway... X3 looks great to me. If I wasn't happy with what I have I'd certainly give it a really good look once the demo drops.

Take a look at the reply that poor guy gets:

Hmm. Two negative comments found, out of thousands on a generally very helpful and friendly forum.
The negative conclusions obviously tell more about some individuals (haters) on KVR than about the whole Cakewalk forum, which is generally a helpful and friendly place.
For example, an utterly ugly thread like this one would be absolutely impossible to find there.
The Cakewalk forums have their share of issues, but for the most part I agree, are friendly and helpful. The thread that is being pointed to is a case where a known forum dissenter chose to assume another identity to continue his tradition/history of stirring the pot. What you are witnessing is fellow forum users calling him out on this. A bit of frontier justice, maybe. Every forum has it's sub-culture and its own characters who make up the dynamic. From the outside, it's not always what it appears to be on the surface - just like at KVR. C'est la vie.

You will need to upgrade to SONAR X3 Producer in order to use R-MIX SONAR (which was previously included in SONAR X2 Producer).whyterabbyt wrote:Cheers. Any idea about R-mix?AROSSA [Cakewalk] wrote:If you upgrade to SONAR X3 Studio or Producer, you will keep all your current ProChannel modules and of course your VSTs would work. Hope that helps.whyterabbyt wrote:Sure, that makes sense, I already use them in Bidule and Live. Im assuming Amber and Breverb wont, though; despite being VST they were tied and would only run in Producer.Proteinshake wrote:I can confirm the PX64 and VX64 even working in Cubase. Can anyone confirm if any of the plugins that were included with older Producer versions, eg PX64, VX64, TS64, etc or even the PC76 and PC4K ProChannel modules would be unavailable to X3 if I went for the Studio version this time around?
Also, is R-Mix completely gone now? Will the old version still work in the same manner V-Vocal is supposed to?
Right, so if I already have them, I should be able to keep them. Cheers.Pro Channel modules are going to work in X3 Studio and Producer.
Im still thinking I'll wait for a sale, though. X2 Pro to X3 Studio is as much as I paid for X1 Pro to X2 Pro.

Roland R-mix is there and works.

Notice Arossa's answer however - he seems to imply that Studio won't do it.whyterabbyt wrote:Cheers!beltrom wrote:Upgraded from X2 Producer to X3 Producer.whyterabbyt wrote:

Can you verify Andrew so there's no misunderstanding?

R-MIX SONAR will only work in SONAR X3 Producer if you previously had it in SONAR X2 Producer. If you upgraded to SONAR X3 Studio, R-MIX SONAR would not work.beltrom wrote:Notice Arossa's answer however - he seems to imply that Studio won't do it.whyterabbyt wrote:Cheers!beltrom wrote:Upgraded from X2 Producer to X3 Producer.whyterabbyt wrote:

Thanks Andrew. I sure will. I am also posting in CW forum after long time.AROSSA [Cakewalk] wrote:Cool. Any more and let us know. Happy to answer questions.satYatunes wrote:Edit: Nevermind. All my questions have already been answered in previous page which I missed.
By the way, I really appreciate you and Noel posting and answering questions in KVR too. Seth P did it for some time when X2 was released. I read in one of your post that no one came forward to diagnose / resolve their Sonar issues 1-on-1 with you. This is very strange, I wonder why would someone not use an opportunity like this.
