Yes, very very nice skins. And just if you want, you can link to all of your skins on the website of Asseca (which contains DarkStar's manuals, links to Nicfit's tuts and more things) too.

I didn't know about this HmmXP style at all but now I've googled it and downloaded it and installed it and I already love it - now where do I know this colour-scheme from again? ;-) :-D
Ok a noob question here
How do I apply this skin to windows?
Thanks for the EXT skin Modlr. It is a nice change of scenery.

Yes, it's a good place to upload new themes to.

However, it would be good if it was possible for WIKI users replace the Zip files and the pictures. I feel like I'm having to harrass Asseca every time I update something.

Andrew Vernon, pakana: cheers!

here you go:

- download the skin from here:

http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/5514034/ (it's a .rar-archive so you need an archiver that can deal with it...)

- unpack the folder

- open the folder and double-click on the'windows design file' and the 'visual style file' and right click on a wallpaper and select 'use for desktop-background'

- done (if you are using XP - else: forget it! :hihi:)

:-D

Hi :D. As far as I understand it Asseca doesn't mind at all, as with my FAQs it's just this way, he has a short look and if he likes it he adds it.

A Live-skin would surely look fine too, Andrew Vernon!
By the way, do all of you magicians own photoshop, or what do you use for your skins??? Never looked into it up to now, I simply replace the background of some skins with own bmps (a lovely feature that Massiva and EXT have).

It is no problem for me to update your files...

Another option, just upload your files with a different version number at the end of the file name, and edit your skin page to refer to the new files...

whoohoo! happy ppl like it! I think there are some small tweaks left cos I dunno about the white color for the metering (I wish ext made the meters themselves not share colors with anything else :(). Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention... HmmXP menus don't look too great if you have the menu transparency set med - high. I set MenuOpaque = 127 in the ext ini file for this skin. Maybe a little transparency is ok, but beyond that it starts to bleed thru too much on such a light skin.

w00t! :)

I like the general look of your skin a lot mod but I find the icons a littel big for my low res laptop. Just some constructive comments. I am using the skin however.

is there some software required for this ?

when I double-click on the HmmXP.msstyles file, I get the windows "display properties" screen, but with only the standard options. :?

before you ask - windows XP pro :D

sure - you only need to click on 'apply' then! ;-) :-D

You need StyleXp Just google it as I can`t remember the link right now.
It really makes a lot of difference in the general feel of Windows.

If you don't feel like paying to access functions built in to your OS you can grab the UXTheme patch from Neowin.net for free. FWIW I've always found it to be reliable and virus free :) .

Good call! :-D

(didn't know there's a freeware alternative...)
