If the update does not work for you - just go back to a version working. It's easy. Nobody takes anything from you. Just wait for things to get fixed.
If it works: be grategul, somebody just made you a hugh present for free!
Only you can't install the old working version simply, since it is not available anymore. What if you didnt keep the old installer? Then you are pretty screwed now. That i was referring to. Please provide the last stable version's installer, too.
