I agree. Imagine if this guy was free and made excellent synthetic sounds (and cookies were CPU cycles):TristezaOrange wrote:My review:
Great synth, lovely GUI, awesome sound, eats CPU like there's no tomorrow!

Have played with the offical release yesterday and I believe it is the best sounding free synth I have ever had my hands on.
It runs smoothly cpu wise on my systems, at least it's easier on my computers than ACE and some of the Reaktor stuff.
Even though it's easy to program, I love that it has so many presets.
I also dig the 'favourite' function for the presets a lot.
Does ACE have that as well ? I must check tonight, I might have missed it
congratulations for such a nice job and thanks a lot for releasing such a synth as freeware

Could be ... although other SSE2-requiring plugins don't even load or crash on loading.djsubject wrote:i think it needs SSE2DarkStar wrote:Help out a dummy.
Installed OK- I can twiddle the knobs and load presets - but no sound on this old PC. Windows XP SP2, Athlon XP processor.

love the synth, but: of all my plugins this goes the hardest as far as cpu consumption is concerned. i never had a vst plugin use all my 4 cores. Some presets indeed do that!darsho wrote:Have played with the offical release yesterday and I believe it is the best sounding free synth I have ever had my hands on.

Note to Maschine 1.6 users, TyrellN6(x64) wouldn't make any sound until I added the data folder (not the shortcut) to it's own folder with the dll.
Works now, sounds good. Look forward to exploring it this weekend.
thanks Urs!

I had a similar issue in live with x32. Originally I just had a shortcut to tyrell from my install location to my organized symlink area. Ableton had issues just recognizing tyrell correctly, moved it directly into my symlink area, came up fine, then I went back to using symlinks and it was fine.awol9000 wrote:Note to Maschine 1.6 users, TyrellN6(x64) wouldn't make any sound until I added the data folder (not the shortcut) to it's own folder with the dll.

This is the most gorgeous sounding free synth I've ever used. Many thanks and a lot of appreciation to URS and the Amazona community for making this happen.

Heh, I was just coming here to say almost exactly those words. It has body and character that is rare in commercial plugins let alone free plugs.Lady J wrote:This is the most gorgeous sounding free synth I've ever used
A synth of this quality and versatility being free is going to change the landscape a bit. Vendors had better step up their game.

Looks like Urs' newly-revamped "lab" is definitely coming in handy.~Pd~ wrote:Heh, I was just coming here to say almost exactly those words. It has body and character that is rare in commercial plugins let alone free plugs.Lady J wrote:This is the most gorgeous sounding free synth I've ever used

Ah, so that's where he gets the inspiration.
Is the project to create it as hardware still alive? (can't force myself to read 44 pages of posts looking for an answer!)

Indeed... one can learn very interesting things from the old stuff~Pd~ wrote:Ah, so that's where he gets the inspiration.![]()
Yes, I shall think so. I'm not directly involved with the talks and stuff, but I guess I'll talk to Peter soon and ask him about it.Is the project to create it as hardware still alive? (can't force myself to read 44 pages of posts looking for an answer!)
