Incidentally, does anyone get a 2files missing" pop-up sometimes when loading CS2 strings with TVEC 4? The files missing seem to be unrelated to CS2.I think they are related to maybe the symphony lib. Which sounds like a bug to me.

well, it was a long holiday then. It was back in February when Kirk promised the fix (knowing it weeks before). Meanwhile I sent him reminders without any reaction from his side. That is not what I call good support. I believe that he lost the interest in fixing TVEC3 after releasing TVEC4 - which is exactly why I not even consider buying it. And so should others, too, in oder to show Kirk that if you sell something that does not work as expected (even if the price was low during the group buy) you have to care.KirkHunter wrote:I'll look into that. They should SOUND exactly the same. Maybe I left some filter on that was not in the older version.AKJ wrote:you can find some examples of the Diamond English Horn here (I just created a very simple midi file, not using any keyswitches; included reverb was deactivated with all examples, I used a convolution reverb vst instead):
http://www.power-xs.net/download/eh_vpro.mp3
(This is the original version included in Diamond, and it sounds imo quite good. I just loaded the patch as it comes, no settings tweaked)
http://www.power-xs.net/download/eh_tve ... ive_on.mp3
(In this example I loaded the tvec3 version of the English Horn. I can here a glitch which is most likely created by intervalive)
http://www.power-xs.net/download/eh_tve ... ve_off.mp3
(Here, I deactovated intervalive and the glitch was gone. But soundwise in comparison to the vpro-version imo: night and day. the clear winner is the original patch)
http://www.power-xs.net/download/eh_tve ... e_off2.mp3
(Here I tried if I could achieve by tweaking the tvec3-patch the same sound as in the vpro-example - but failed)
I really wonder how much better the original patch sounds. Maybe, I am doing something wrong, but it seems that (at least out of the box) tvec3 is not always good. So it's great that we also have the original patches.
cheers, akj

Yep, sure is a little disappointing, c'mon Kirk!AKJ wrote:"... you have to care ...

Maybe he secretly doesn't know how to fix the problem...

I investigated a bit on differences: first of all turning TVEC3 AttkSens all way down to 0, switching IntervalLive off (as AKJ did), changing TVEC3 dynamic response, leveling the sounds and switching off both reverbs lead to a very similar sound but not exactly the same..
It seems to me that wanting to improve round robin response, increasing it from 2 to 4 samples per note without add any new one (original english horn has two samples per note), in TVEC3 instrument the original sample has been morphed with the trumpet samples. This increases the round robin response but introduces some phase problem that weakens the beautiful original EH sample.
Anyway it's only a assumption, lets wait for Kirk's answer on this..

It's been about four months since the group buy's conclusion. How can this be taking so much time?

Woodwinds were fixed back in Dec. unless I missed an additional issue mentioned. Go to http://www.kirkhunterstudios.com/update.html and scroll down to 12/10/2011.AKJ wrote:still no woodwind fixes!!!

Show me a screenshot of the 2 missing files, and make sure you tell me exactly which instrument is asking for the missing samples, and I'll get to it.Kraznet wrote:He's probably holidaying on the profits of the group buyAKJ wrote:several times, no success.

Good call! What you've done was to practically re-create the former, non-TVEC 3 version.EdC wrote:I investigated a bit on differences: first of all turning TVEC3 AttkSens all way down to 0, switching IntervalLive off (as AKJ did), changing TVEC3 dynamic response, leveling the sounds and switching off both reverbs lead to a very similar sound but not exactly the same..

Hi AKJ.AKJ wrote:I start to doubt that the TVEC3 Diamond Woodwind fixes will ever come...
Ok, so I might have missed or forgotten exactly what the TVEC 3 issue was in the woods during the melé of my having to move, break down the studio, and rebuild it from scratch. So gimme the list, and I'll do the best I can!
