sure but for the more simple non evolving sounds it works quite nice, for me anyway. Saves lot cpu headroom for other instances of the synthTheoM wrote:sure but highlife is static.. it's useless for evolving soundscapes or tempo synced stuff.. and on mac AU, no point at all of course as there is no vsti freeze.Nielzie wrote:If I might give a little workaround tip on using synths with very heavy cpu consumption: Sample it with HighLife
Once you have the sound you want out of the heavy cpu synth, you can sample it with discoDSP HighLife (it can load vst's), save it as a (fxp) program in HighLife, unload the vst, and play it back with just a fraction of the cpu use
Cheers
And HighLife has it's own lfo and envelopes to add some movement too. I'm on Windows, so no idea about how the mac version works though.
No band limits, aliasing is the noise of freedom!

Could you tell us more about the planned stepper and arpeggiator?
When will those features be implemented?
Will they be fully programable and send out notes and other data over midi out on Mac and PC?

Yes it's crazy, we get less features but have to pay for it too.TheoM wrote:sure but highlife is static.. it's useless for evolving soundscapes or tempo synced stuff.. and on mac AU, no point at all of course as there is no vsti freeze.Nielzie wrote:If I might give a little workaround tip on using synths with very heavy cpu consumption: Sample it with HighLife

Stepper and arpeggiator are under development and some details are continuously changing, so final vision you will see in demo version when it will be available.juffi wrote: Could you tell us more about the planned stepper and arpeggiator?
It's impossible to specify a particular date, because we need to ensure that new modules work as expected.juffi wrote: When will those features be implemented?
We analyze this feature and decide whether to implement it and when.juffi wrote: Will they be fully programable and send out notes and other data over midi out on Mac and PC?

Btw, I finished my track I started with Spire. If somebody is interested about the final track, I posted it in the music cafe
