The sequencer is definitely too bright. Its really weird how it just hits you when you switch from the rack to it. I will be sending them a request on their feedback page to tone it down a bit. I actully think it would have been cool if they used the colors of Figure for the sequencer. I am really loving R8 tho so much faster to get things done.
KFish needs to answer a simple question. What is an outdated sound?

I think Panorama was around for a couple of years.KarmaShaman wrote:How long has the panorama range been around? I am holding off buying the P1 in the event that a new model is released but thinking of buying after the next NAMM if nothing is announced

Regarding those...ermmm...icons, can someone just find a way to cull them? They seem a little redonkulous to me...

Oh dear. I was talking about v7 being too bright, but your post reminded me of something I read that suggests R8 is even brighter.krucial wrote:The sequencer is definitely too bright. This release is a train wreck, and for those few devotees that have rushed in, I hope they address the list of user concerns that are prevalent. The preview feature would be a start.

So, I spend some time to download and install that 3.7gb demo file.. Still that playing cursor doesn't return on the place where you set it up, tards.. Still no mousewheel support for zooming, like in FL Studio and S1. Mousewheel on timeline, easy and fast navigation.. And now you can draw notes in double click, wow! But you cant change note velocity without pencil tool, wohoo! Tested these and it was uninstall after 5min of playing.. Maybe in 2020.

Thanks for the link to the discussion. I read that thread and I agree with one's opinion about the knobs.EnochLight wrote:
I made a thread in the PUF ( https://www.propellerheads.se/forum/sho ... ost1530518 ) illustrating what it could possibly look like using THOR as an example. I took screen shots of THOR for iPad and stitched them together - the difference in clarity is staggering.
And here's what Thor scaled to HD could possibly look like (I'll post a link instead of embed as the size is massive):

What can I say? I have mixed feelings really. Although I don't have 4k monitor, and I'm not planning to have it in the near future because my eyes are quite happy with the Full HD resolution in my 27" monitor, I still find the resolution of the devices small and tiring to the eyes.
So, bigger or resized GUI for the devices would be great from one side. From another side, I prefer the old (current) feel of the graphics and the details.
My ideal solution would be a reasonable fixed size that fit 1920x1080 and 4k but still possible to be viewed in 1366x768 for Windows Laptop with the hardware/racks style that Reason is recognised for.
Anyway, the 4k resolution is giving more headache for the designers I guess. It might come the day that DAWs become like games which analyse your resolution and hardware, then give you the optimum resolution to run them!
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

I'm confident that HD/Retina support is coming in an upcoming Reason upgrade. See my thoughts in the other thread.EnGee wrote:Thanks for the link to the discussion. I read that thread and I agree with one's opinion about the knobs.EnochLight wrote:

I hope it won't be super BIG for my 1920x1080 resolution!eXode wrote:

I read the other thread, thanks for pointing it out. I also read some reviews and opinions about Reason 8 in some various websites.
I have the thought that PH is heading into Vector/Flat based design (like in iOS 7 and Windows phone 8 ). It seems the fashion is going Flat (again! I remember many years ago when Ableton was the leader in this fashion, but this time it is resizeable).
Anyway, I'm not against this direction if done right, but doesn't that mean updating the SDK (Huge update)? This will enforce every developer to re-write the plugin (at least the Graphics part) using the new Flat SDK, right? So, it means not an easy step with the problem of rendering all the current rack extensions useless, unless the whole update for the new Flat world will be included in the future upgrade to Reason 9 or 10.

Not really. From what I understood by an old post by Chris Randall (Audio Damage) when he commented on the SDK, is that the GUI assets in the RE SDK are already rendered at a very high resolution and basically downsampled (simplified) to fit the current GUI. So basically it seems that it's all there in the foundation already.EnGee wrote:Anyway, I'm not against this direction if done right, but doesn't that mean updating the SDK (Huge update)?
