The only thing that sounds week is your post.THE INTRANCER wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 9:09 pm Something worth mentioning I think.. according to the guy in this video, the ' Text To Speech' features requires connecting to an online service. That's disappointing I feel, as it's really the only thing I would have considered putting money down for, and as for the sound which I've not mentioned yet, it's to my ears, just too weak sounding... I'm sorry to say. That's compared to the other synths I have like Hive 2 to name just one.
Vital sound quality is better than that from Hive and Zebra. It has a clear sound that can be modelled via the filters, morph modes and effects. 10 minutes ago I made a ladder square/saw string sound with Vital which sounds soft, clear and full. It's not that awfull washer sound like from this Hive or Zebra and I have both to compare, so I hear what I am writing. I also tested the sound when Vital is in the mix with other vsti and especially there Vital sounds better.
Hive and Zebra have very good filters, but in the mix they sound not that good because you don't hear that.

i don't understand why everything here turns into a battle (ok, i've contributed to that behavior before). i really really like vital, but am not abandoning hive or zebra2 for it. they all have their strengths.MorpherX wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 10:24 pmThe only thing that sounds week is your post.THE INTRANCER wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 9:09 pm Something worth mentioning I think.. according to the guy in this video, the ' Text To Speech' features requires connecting to an online service. but hive is pretty special, and am having a lot of fun with it, and inspired to make music... for me, the highest compliment i can pay a synth.

1% CPU usage with a 16 thread CPU at 3.6 GHZ when you have 2 Oscillators with both 8 unison, 1 ladder filter and 3 effect (chorus, phaser and delay). So with a little notebook this could consume up to 5%, but by far not that much as for example Serum would consume.crickey13 wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 10:27 pm How is in terms of CPU usage? I'm not making music on the heftiest system and I've seen conflicting reports with regard to CPU consumption.
Vital is very CPU friendly because it also renders graphic tasks with the GPU.

Sorry but intrancer compromised Vital in an unhonest way.fisherKing wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 10:51 pmi don't understand why everything here turns into a battle (ok, i've contributed to that behavior before). i really really like vital, but am not abandoning hive or zebra2 for it. they all have their strengths.MorpherX wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 10:24 pmThe only thing that sounds week is your post.THE INTRANCER wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 9:09 pm Something worth mentioning I think.. according to the guy in this video, the ' Text To Speech' features requires connecting to an online service. You are right that Hive and Zebra have it's strengst, therefore I bought it, but if something news comes out which is at least as good as existing good VSTis then it should not be compromised but supported.
Many people have not that money to buy expensive VSTis, but also want to make music with VSTis. Mr Tytel offers now a new way for all interested people in the world to get a good VSTi.

I can't see it having any effect. There are plenty of excellent cheap synths around, e.g. HY-Poly, but they haven't had any impact on the pricing of the big boys.chagzuki wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 3:10 pmMaybe it's not for this thread but it will be fascinating to see the effect of this synth on the broader market. Although competing synths are frequently discounted to the price of around $100 or sometimes less, they're always a lot more expensive than $25/free. The competition is fierce.

Vital v1.0.0 hasn't actually not been "officially" released yet,so it would be a safe bet to think that any small niggles will get ironed out in future updates...
That is what happens with most of these synths, but one or two developers seem to be deaf to any user feedback and like to keep the bugs intact as a bit of a feature
I'm sure that CPU optimization and a few tweaks and refinements will all happen in due course and Vital will develop into a top shelf soft synth...
It has already created quite a buzz and it's only just the opening act

Vital is the biggest boy on the block right now for a whole slew of reasons, and it's not even properly released yet. With its fair and aggressive pricing, will most definitely see some restructuring and offerings among the competition, and I'm betting it will be sooner than later...
... I can already hear competitive devs rethinking their BF "deals"...
But frankly if you still need a WT+ synth, this is it.

Have you tried Vital?

Bought the $20 package.
For the price, the sound, the intuitiveness, the flexibility, the features, absolute no brainer. Loads of fun.
If that's still too expensive, wait for the free version.

What plugins do you have that you consider heavy cpu usage?crickey13 wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 10:27 pm How is in terms of CPU usage? I'm not making music on the heftiest system and I've seen conflicting reports with regard to CPU consumption.

Anyone using Vital with Bitwig? I'm having mod wheel issues in it, the same was true of early versions of HY-POLY, I'm starting to wonder if Bitwig does something weird with modwheel.
In the future there will be robots!
