25 multisamples from Dave Smiths Mopho.
Full of analog character, some of these were processed with light distortion, Eq and compression.
Meticulously looped! I recorded them with the intention of using them as mono leads just like the Mopho!

Drop the samples into any expansion sample folder or create a new one and use this as the image

SLiC - its easy to get quite extreme effects with cross mod FM, and there's the fun of putting drum loops or voices or raccoons through it. I don't know if this is of interest, but here's something I chanced upon when playing around with cross mod that is a much more subtle effect, which uses just a little basic sine wave to modulate but then gently shaping and tweaking that sine, which is something you can't do without this new feature.

I'm a big fan of early Simple Minds, and have always loved the arp that kicks off Love Song (complete with a glorious dropping into record sound through a delay):



Have never really tried to recreate that sound (MacNeil was a heavy Jupiter 8 and OBX-a user so I guess it was one of those). Anyway, as I was experimenting in Avenger with cross mod I chanced across this sort of effect. Here's a simple 16th with a bit of motion on a square wave wavetable - https://app.box.com/s/wh4pt1wgtxi4xxe1eqemoyo4gjl7nwz3 . Nothing very exciting. But this is a version with a hint of cross mod using a sine wave that was modulated by an LFO, and that LFO modulated by a 2nd LFO to get some smooth randomness going - https://app.box.com/s/mmn2lssmod9cm2xpq8ux2n445yzogsa1 . That constantly gently shifting sine modulator seemed to produce the distinctive slightly hollow ringing sound I've always heard in Love Song. Its not identical admittedly. I wonder if using 2 LFOs like this in Avenger is actually just recreating some analogue instability and drift. (Love that in the original, the ARP goes out of time during the song. When they used to play it live in 1981 it was all over the place... ah the days of old tech.)

Just want to thank the Avenger Squad for creating a wonderful synth (in their spare time, when not fighting crime ) The new FM mode is wild! Many new possibilities from it.

My PC was recently bricked by an over-enthusiastic Windows 10 auto update, and the thought of playing Avenger helped give me a reason and patience to fix it, and not throwing it in the lake. (A new SSD and re-installing everything did the trick).

Avenger is arguably one of the biggest bang-for-the-buck VST synths around, imho. Not bad for a one year old!

yes you can add analog "instability" of pitch with the inner ring in the fine tune knob. It adds a bit of random pitch on every note-on. You can modulate the depth of this effect then with one of the macro's

I made an analog like synthwave unison bass, used that random pitch and of course free phase of the waveform. It would sound even more analog now, if the superstack section's vibrato had a "free phase/no restart" mode, too. So each single stack voice vibrato lfo would not restart on new note, and it could be used more like an analog unison.

Hi can somebody please help, i bought the Trance One soundbank, ive done everything as instructed however the soundbank is still locked, Avenger isnt asking me to do anything it is just staying locked with red arrow through it

You’ll get more help by actually writing what you did. Maybe you only think you followed all the steps - happened many times before.
