Them's fightin' words! :o
Well, sometimes less is more. In this case, omitting common enhancements - polyphonic mode for starters - surely makes it a more accurate model than various other offerings including ours.
+100

ive been so sick of all these options, finalyl a synth that gets back to basics and lets me focus on what i want instead "of what does THIS button do??" i applaud NI for a bold move, mono was the way to go

....

and to the guy above me, your post says more about you that it does anyone else... get some :help:, we wont think any less of you for it

What I meant was, it may be accurate in features - down to a hair spliting level, obviously - but we yet have to see if it's also accurate in sound ;-)

Post

even if the sound of Monark is bang on, the fanatics & pedants will then bring up the issue of the condition of the hardware unit that was modeled. is it ''clean'' or ''characterful'', which is the ideal, and does such & such an artist prefer these ''clean'' units or the other type. or better yet does such & such an artist own one of the units that was modeled. and it is at that point that science becomes religion.

wait & see!

No buchla is worth that.

indeed! :shudder:
Can you imagine the austerity measures vurt would impose to afford all those rare esoteric modulars, you think it's bad now?! :-o

actually we would be safe... cause all that power would go to his head... and then there would be no more headroom... :hihi:

Ok, if you own Reaktor, it's fine to be able to load it in that one.

But if you don't, why force you to open two programs at the same time - first Reaktor and then the synth itself.
If your DAW supports track templates, then that is not a problem at all.
Even if the piano player can't play, keep the party going.

regarding monark:
i like the comments over at CDM := the marcros are locked.

ill stick to kontakt.

i get that, but im one of those who just dont care how accurate as long as it sounds fcking amazing. i was talking more about your "less is more" comment and how limitations actually help me where i need to go. as much as love divas sound, i can (and usually) do get lost in all those options... its a sonic playground!

Post

make monark or whatever synth cover this sound and I'm impressed. Plus check the modular synth that is on the videos after this one.

You have two parameters on B page that introduce more dirt and leakage to the sound, effectively modeling everything between squeaky clean to unruly misshapen condition units. :D

Page B?? There is nothing on the NI page about a page B... What else is there?

Go check Monark's manual, please. :) It's freely available for download on Monark page.

But you can use them as building blocks for your own poly beast.

Below is a print screen from the manual of Monark's page B, so with the Page A, the full feature will look like this:
