Regarding new presets in V Collection 9, are all the new presets only coming from the new 14 banks? Or it means these are additional banks for all the new instruments and are separate from their factory presets?

And does anyone know if the previous preset banks Synthopedia (800 presets) and Patchworks (700 presets) are also included in V Collection 9? I assume it would only be the case if you had V Collection 7 (Synthopedia), then upgraded to 8 (Patchworks) and then upgraded to 9 (14 new banks). Perhaps someone who did not have VC7/8 earlier and now has VC9 could please check in their owned preset banks (Analog Lab->Store) and let me know?

There are new factory presets for each instrument (300 for Voices for example), and a small subset of these are available to all in Analog Lab V (14 in the case of Voices, 39 for the MS-20). V9 comes with an additional 14 sound sets, I think each of those is designed round one of the new instruments.

Not sure about the 2nd part of your question.

Okay, that's great. Thanks!

I am more curios about the second question, but I am assuming the answer to it would be no.

I picked up V collection at 8 and still got Synthopedia along with Patchworks. However in my account both are listed under V8 in the product page and not V9 which lists the new expansion packs, so it looks like they may not roll over to V9 in the same way. Given their cost bought separately $200 ($100 on sale) you might be better off picking up a second hand V8 and upgrading from there

Support could probably confirm either way in a few minutes before you part with any cash.

Okay, so do you mean you never owned V Collection 7? If so, I am a bit surprised, in a good way, that you also got Synthopedia pack.

The bold part is exactly what I asked this question for. To help decide whether to buy V Collection 7 or 8 second hand before upgrading. Guess it would be best to grab V Collection 8 second hand. However, I am not sure yet about upgrading to V Collection 9 as I don't have the budget. Was just evaluating the possibilities, as I liked what VC9 offers, especially Augmented Series instruments and Prophet VS V.

Checking with support is indeed a good idea. Thanks for your help.

I do have V7 then upgraded to V8 and then to V9. Total presets in Analog Lab V are 13565 presets, but I have 585 user presets (SysEx for various synths) so the remaining are 12980 which includes Pigments and several free banks I added today from Arturia store (inside Analog Lab V). They are 29 banks (free and gifts from Arturia).
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

I have to say I'm liking the full Augmented Strings and new Augmented Voices. Very useable stuff with the morph wheel and editing features. Also like the CS80V4 and the new MS20. The SQ80V is also great but I bought that when it was first released. I was hoping for a $99 upgrade price but I can't complain at $149 considering Arturia has been pretty generous with freebies throughout the year.

Thanks, EnGee. :) But considering you have V7/V8/V9, isn't the preset count less for you considering you also included ~2000 presets of Pigments? V Collection 9 quotes 14000 presets, so thought your count would be more than that.

The maximum length on the Filter envelope's attack knob is a mere 580 ms !! I don't have a spec sheet for an actual CS-80 so I have no idea how accurate this is or isn't, but that is enormously shorter than the max on the previous versions of this plugin -- 20,000 ms !!

Surely this means the V4 can't load any presets from the V3, the envelopes are just completely, utterly different things. Anybody know about the timing of the original's envelopes? Surely this change is motivated by a desire for accuracy, I'd hope!

I am noticing that it seems a lot less fiddly to program now, thanks to the envelope range not being so enormous. Previously, you'd hit the upper range of the sliders and the tiniest movement could jump you forward multiple seconds worth of time. Now it's...practically snappy.
Indeed the new envelopes accurately model the original envelopes.
(despite the huge dispersion you can find on the machines, the reference values are the real deal)
On the other hand, you will find an alternative envelope mode in the Side panel > Settings > Envelope modes.
This alternative mode gives access tu much longer envelope times if you feel limited by the original ones.

Oh really?! I don't know where they are gone! :hihi: Anyway, the ones I have still need a life time to explore!

Any speculations on sales in near future or until this year end?

Here are my thoughts:

- There should be one in July or so, but I believe the offer should be same as it is now.

- There was a $200 off discount on V Collection 7 few months after it was released initially in May 2019 (https://www.engadget.com/2019-11-19-art ... riday.html). If this happens again, there is a possibility that V Collection 9 will be available for $399 new during Black Friday 2022, which means upgrades/crossgrades could be same as there are right now or better by up to $100.

- Don't think V Collection 9 will be 50% off in 2022.

Wondering if anyone went in for the $299 upgrade.

I installed V9 and there are supposed to be 14 new sound banks included and I wasn't seeing any of them. For anyone else wondering where to find those new banks you need to go to this page and download the installers for the banks manually:

Or you can open Analog Lab (either standalone or plugin) and install them all from there -- much faster than needing to manually grab the banks.
