definitely good fun!whyterabbyt wrote: Tue Mar 15, 2022 9:57 amYeah, I saw that and put one on the mental shopping list as well...vurt wrote: Fri Mar 11, 2022 11:35 pm i may have just accidentally (damn you mylar melodies) purchased a doepfer a 111 6. mini synth voice module.
10 hp, oscillators, filters, envelopes!
sounded gnarly, was cheap, will fill a corner in case 2!
surprised it's not more talked about really, i know it's doepfer so not very exciting to look at, but their filters get a lot of chatter as do some of the workhorse modulation bits.
but id never heard of this before, so lucky mm decided to have a go with it all these years later!
highly recommended to anyone with 10 hp they're not sure how to fill, or if you have a full case to fill and don't know where to begin, this plus a keystep/0ctrl/beatstep or any sequencer with gate out too, days of fun just there!!!

Talking of keysteps, I think mine, a k37, has got real issues sending semitone quantised cv consistently.
In order to play live from it reliably into eurorack I’m having to go k37 midi out into Reaper into Vcv Rack, convert to pitch and gate as audio out from the track and forward that to the ES-3 module. Big palaver.

btw that VCO I bought isn’t an AWM it’s EMW apparently, I found it on modular grid, this one…

mine didn’t have the name or logo and came in an unbranded box so maybe it was a kit version

I wish that I had a Les Paul. That way I could sell something that would be very easy for me to sell.MuzzleBreech wrote: Tue Mar 15, 2022 5:09 am im selling gear. I had quite a collection. recently sold a Gibson Les Paul. sad but that's life
Alas, selling is such hard work, and buying is so easy.

A production prototype of the next PGH (Pittsburgh Modular) synth using 4 or 5 feedback loops within the synth.

For whatever it’s worth, I’m wishing you well so you can get back what you let go plus more. It definitely sucks.MuzzleBreech wrote: Sat Mar 19, 2022 1:20 amSo true. Anyone have any insight on Elektron, specifically with Digitakt? The biggest drawback I see is that it only has internal memory.
I’m curious if a MK II is around the corner

Sod’s law dictates the Mk II comes out a day after you buy the original.
I think the Digitakt is the best value unit they do, the only thing it’s missing is stereo sampling but if you really want it you can just create left and right samples and use two tracks. The sequencer engine is really good and you get 8 MIDI tracks you can sequence over and above its own tracks, Overbridge is pretty solid now so you can use USB to get the audio straight into a DAW plus you can bring external audio in one track of stereo or two of mono, apply effects and bring them into Overbridge too. I think it’s a good value machine overall.
I’ve just spent the afternoon rearranging my desk to get it and its friends available as I want to try sampling my eurorack and bringing that in to build songs with for when I don’t just want to jam.

Yes, it will be in a 'blackbox' like the SV-1, so it is eurorackable if desired.elxsound wrote: Sat Mar 19, 2022 5:54 pmShabdahbriah wrote: Fri Mar 18, 2022 5:05 am A production prototype of the next PGH (Pittsburgh Modular) synth using 4 or 5 feedback loops within the synth.![]()
That’s very cool. Sounds like Vurt.***

*** Richard (Pittsburgh's founder) is a big fan of Éliane Radigue. (As am I).
She eventually broke away from her early musique concrète endeavors, and concentrated on tape loops and microphone feedback, as well as multi-speakered environmental soundscapes.

Sign up for their mailing list.
I suspect it will come in @around $699-799, and (iirc) it is 90hp, though that may be the Voltage Research Lab II's hp. One of them is 90hp. Both are slated to be out in 2022.
