I can imagine the piles of empty soda bottles, discarded potato chips,…errrr crisps,… bags, and pizza boxes strewn about the room. :hihi:
Well you’d be wrong because I haven’t even made it into the kitchen since I set it up about four hours ago. :)

shit, what I thought was 4 hours is actually more like 6. I have to make tea.
hold on! youve lay there for six hours straight???
you wearing a nappy? :?
using a milk bottle? (my own method)
part camel?

I'd happily swap that ability for not having to go to work on Tuesday.

But, only that.

Dug through a couple of boxes and tested some stuff. A couple of minor toy things misbehaving, fixed a couple of things, one of which (Stylophone Beatbox) just developed a different issue. Recorded an hour or two from a Kastle as sample fodder, then spent an hour or two more reminding myself how the f**k to fly a BitRanger.

then after fixing the switch on a Moffenzeef MSG, I looked into updating firmware on it, as it runs an atmel attiny85...

... which resulted in several hours spent on trying to work out how the f**k I used to build on 8-pin attinys; the supposed all-in-one attiny programmer board I had just emitted smoke, I couldnt get ArduinoISP to work with the stripboards pseudo-shield I built specifically for programming attinys, I couldnt get my USBTiny programmer to work with the Arduino IDE but it would seem to be working from AVRDude.... gah.

so that wound up in me 'designing' a whole new version of that pseudo-shield because I was convinced I'd done summat wrong. had taken no notes, couldnt remember where I'd sourced the info and did i say no notes, so had to basically re-research it all over again, dummy it up in fritzing, compare to the one I'd built and and and..

...and that was sunday mostly gone. sigh.

Bounced some BFD drums to audio. Messed around with my bass and Moogerfooger filter to set up for upcoming tracking.

Haven't been on here in awhile because I moved. Now that I am unpacked and have had a shot of whisky I can post.
Got lots more storage now:

Six closets is more than I have stuff for ... so I can buy more equipment - YAY!
Ordered something new off Reverb already, in customs now.

I think I narrowed down my workflow with Digitakt, Syntakt, SQ64 and the modular rack.

Syntakt will be my clock, Digitakt to send 2 channels of midi to the rack, and SQ64 for additional gate sequencing. The modulation is weird on SQ64, so thankfully 0-Coast will save the day.

I explored euclidian rhythms on PNW (pain in the ass) and have been trying the same thing on Running Order with good enough results.

I explored Plaits more, especially Plaits' mini Rings modes which makes me want Rings even more, but in time. No rush.

I need to try out the logic stuff on PNW, and then I can move on to the last two modules to deep dive... Morphagene and CVilization.

Sadly, I see the need for more utilities, but again, I can get by for now. Once it becomes painfully obvious I'll start exploring more options.

The best module I have for Euclidean rhythms by a mile is vpme Euclidean Circles as it’s so hands on with instant visual feedback, but I don’t want to use euclidean stuff enough to keep it in my main rack and I’ve other ways of getting the same if I do need it (O_c hemispheres, modes in both Noise Engineering repetitor modules etc.)

Ive definitely considered it, but I also won’t use Euclidean rhythms enough to justify having a dedicated module. I would rather program something quickly, but I did want to give it a try.

It is easy on Running Order, but I don’t know that I’m keeping it in the rack.

Like me you have an SQ-64 and there's always the possibility they'll add euclidean to the percussion track on that via a firmware update at some point. Talking of drum things, just got a text to say my Kraken has arrived. I long to unleash it...

Do you use the CV modulation out from SQ64? I haven’t found a useful way to use it.

The way I understand how it works is that you can only reduce the percentage of a 5v step and can change the curve, but in practice all 16 steps (when length is set to 16) outputs a signal change.

I’ve never tried using it for cv modulation, main use is sequencing my MS20 Mini with Hz/V and occasionally some modular stuff, but I don’t use it as much as I’d like to as it’s way easier to sequence everything via my DAW.

Got the WMD Kraken in the setup and it’s perfect, displaced an ADDAC 106 noise/cymbal module I wasn’t using much. Crazy amount of snare variations on this thing, between it and the Crucible I was using about a dozen CV modulation sources, some tempo synced, and then the things really come alive. I’m at that slightly annoying stage in retrospect I move away from playing with the stuff for hours without actually recording a thing.
