Is that a pop up report or something you found on your drive?

I always send crash reports when they pop up. Its good to mention the audio interface you use as that's not included in the report.

@hibidy have you tried your Push controller and the Push script with Bitwig yet ?

Yes, but is there a part of that that you send or the whole folder?

Where I found mine was under app data and it's a folder. Do I attach the whole thing?

Yeah. It works really well. It's not the same but I feel right at home with it.

You don't need to do anything manually normally. If the crash requester pops up, fill in as much info about what you did when it happened as you can and add your mail address so the devs can get back to you if they have questions and send it off. That's it in most cases.
If the problem is connected to a specific project or sound file, you may have to send that manually to tech-support, explaining the connection to the crash, since the crash reporter never sends any such files.

Tom

Ok, I'm not getting a crash reporter. So what I need to know is exactly where that is kept and what part to send. (there is another thread I resurrected on this, just ignore that one other than it's relevant to the post)

If you don't get the crash reporter popup on next start of BWS, then you simply report the problem with as many details about your system and setup to tech-support. If they need anything else they will get back to you.

The only time I have had crashes and not seen a crash dialog was when I had issues with my audio interface and Bitwig would not close down. It was believed that this was a catastrophic failure of the audio engine. As it turned out this was due to issues with the audio interface. I have not had many instances of crashes, except with some of the beta's which I kind of expect, the official release has been quite rock solid. Are you actually having problems with Bitwig such as crashes, or the program locking up?

It won't close down. The pop up comes up on the next restart (I always have to force it to quit) but I didn't see any way of reporting it. It tells me where the file is.

I think I've narrowed it down to one of two things: Either like in the other thread, there is a controller that is not being released or it's the TSEx50 amp modeler. I tried switching out the amp sim with something else and haven't gotten it yet.

I'll give a detailed explanation to tech support once I've narrowed down the exact way to reproduce it.

Sorry to hear hibidy, its a pain when things don't work right. Tech support is probably the best place to contact. I'm sure they will ask for things they need to help you. Good luck :)

Oh, I have no doubt. I just don't understand crash reports currently. I'm used to the live method. When I get another one, I'll try to figure out the secret hand shake for reporting it :hihi:

Have you tried teasing it with a little tuna? :)

EDIT

GAK! I thought I'd found it :bang: That wasn't it :x

Push with Bitwig is still not quite there yet compared to with Live... but works reasonably well already... and considering how open and user controlled it is, I suspect that in the long run, Push will be better with Bitwig than with Live :o
