There you go.
I can't export a midi from Cubase so that the tempo and instruments are correct for some reason... The tempo is 163 bpm.
There you go.

So yes, this is a huge problem for me. If Diamond really can't handle quick playing speeds then I'm afraid I'm going to purchase something else in addition to it.
I hope that it CAN work, but I've played with almost every setting available, literally .

Maybe not ideal, but have you considered cutting your project tempo in half, rendering the composition to audio, and then doubling the speed of the audio (in pitch-preserve mode)?synchronizer wrote:So yes, this is a huge problem for me. ...why in the world would I settle for that? You're just making my buyer's remorse worse. Sorry, but I'm not making ANY compromises. The product should work.

Why would you settle for it? Because it could work.synchronizer wrote:...why in the world would I settle for that? You're just making my buyer's remorse worse. Sorry, but I'm not making ANY compromises. The product should work.
It's been some months since I really engaged with this part of the forum, but I'm now quickly remembering why trying to help you is a thankless task. You wallow in buyer's remorse. You're rude too.

...Listen. I don't spend $130 only to have a product half-work when there are plenty of products that work at all times. Something as simple as playing notes to the beat shouldn't be problematic. Diamond sounds great, but this is a serious issue that I'd like to resolvem so I will wait to see if Kirk has any suggestions now...hopefully there's a simple solution, but here are some better reasons for why I can't simply cut the tempo then render at my desired speed:
1- It's not a streaming issue. When rendering, the sound will still be too delayed.
2-I need to be able to judge how everything sounds at my preferred speed because some of my instruments respond differently at varying tempos.
Does that make more sense?

Don't worry, I'll get it to work for you. Fast playing is DEFINITELY possible. However, the midi file you posted here does not work. Can you send it directly to kirkhunterstudios@gmail.com?

All right---I sent an E-mail. Thanks again.

Ok, so there are 2 solutions:synchronizer wrote:All right---I sent an E-mail. Thanks again.
1. Make sure your velocities are more matched. I set them to have a minimum of 108.
2. Instead of ModAndVel vib, use Vibrato live and use these settings:
StartVib - 200
SusVib - 50
fadeTime - 76
Here's a screenshot of both the TVEC 3 GUI and the VibratoLive GUI:

Here are 2 cues of just the violins,
1 using attack setting to 0:

and my preference attack setting to 60:

And one more thing:
Obviously, the cues sound "fast" by themselves. If you still find it sounding "slow" in your sequence, try moving the entire violin part ahead a bit. Strings ALWAYS have a bit of "delay" when they first play, even when playing aggressively. The "peak" of the loudest part of the sound file, even an aggressive one, will not be at the very beginning of the actual sound. Good string players often play slightly ahead of the conductor to obtain "sync" if they are playing with a percussion-oriented piece. That's because when a percussion instrument is struck, its sound file's peak DOES occur at or near the beginning of the actual sound file.

That sounds so much better! The only problem is that a significant portion of the sample library does not have vibrato live (it's greyed out)---including the solo violin and other articulations. I'll try the settings now.
-vibrato live isn't available for every instrument and articulation though, and the staccatos seems to be a little behind as well. It seems that by making the violin-playing more real, it's harder to make playing precise. hmmmm...well here we go *presses play button
EDIT: You're not using vibrato live in your screens, but I assume you meant to do so.
EDIT 2: Okay, I can't seem to get the sound to be as perfect as it is in your mp3... pops and clicking due to imperfect transitions, and the buffer has nothing to do with it. Well... I'll place one of the mp3 in my song to see if the speed IS what I want before proceeding.
EDIT 3: yes, it's still a bit slow. ...anyway, your version IS improved so I'd like to master the technique. Still...I've heard violinists playing their instrument extremely fast...
EDIT 4: Playing around with the settings and moving the notes back by about 1/64 works nicely. Can you answer one question though?
Why is it that when a song plays, the attack knobs changes in real time between several values?

The attack knob is changing because you have not set the LegAttk knob down to 0.

Oh wow---I didn't see that there was a secret/hidden legato attack button in the settings. Setting that to 0 fixed my problem 99.9% Thank you so much for your assistance!

It's not "hidden" information. Read all about it at http://www.kirkhunterstudios.com/Concer ... egato.html
