Seriously, though, I'm told SampleTank 3 will be 64-bit only but not sure about specific OS compatibility.hueynym wrote:It should work with the Atari - after all, both products came out around the same time.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote: I don't have full compatibility testing specs, we'll share when we have more information on this sort of thing. Hey Peter!
I fully agree with JasonSpatola.
It really benefit everybody if IKM gave us some screenshots of the user interface so we could comment it and come with suggestions.
IF they do that I would very much like to be notified about it!

This close to release there aren't likely to be a lot of interface changes, mostly getting the kinks out in last part of the lap here. I understand that people are excited but we have definitely taken suggestions, done the appropriate research and testing, and such and we will reveal the full GUI when the time is right - as stated above, we've listened to suggestions about SampleTank's GUI for a long time now but we're not going to completely crowdsource it, sorry. Hopefully you can understand how that would be at best something that would further delay things and at worst a complete mess to manage. The best version of SampleTank 3 to assess will likely be at NAMM, and we haven't been shooting in the dark so I know many will be very happy with the results.sfd wrote:Hey Peter!

Peter - Okay. I've to wait and hope for the best then!
Do you have any information about the pricing?
Assuming that all other ST based stuff like SampleMoog, SampleTRon etcetera willbe upgraded too. I mean, they're the sme thing just with another GUI. So I'm a bit anxioous about the pricing for upgrading them as well, As I purchased for Total Workstation XL....

i remember you stating you have no need for 64-bit apps...KevWestBeats wrote:I am calling it people will complain about lack of 32 bit compatibility
remember?
you were on a Sempron processor... and Reason was your weapon of choice... remember? Reason was only a 32-bit app at the time... remember? i do!!!
remember... you had problems with Reason 6 running on your Sempron processor... actually... i remember getting BANNED from futureproducers.com trying to explain the benefits of a 64-bit system to you... remember? i do!!! i was trying to explain the large sample libraries and how a 64-bit system would work hand in hand... remember? i do!!! you were talking about how fast the Reason's Studio Drums Refill loaded on your machine (a Sempron processor)... and i owned a i7 9 GB of DDR 3 Ram Vista machine with 7200 rpm HD at the time (what type of HD and ram is on a Sempron processor?) and the Reason's Studio Drums Refill did not load that fast on my machine... but that Refill loaded fast on a Sempron processor... remember? i do!!!
question... 2 years ago today... did you even have a 64-bit system?
what happens if there are some individuals like you (2 years ago) and they do not have a 64-bit system? 32-bit compatibility would be nice for them... right?
you are a funny guy!!!

Just what I've 'gleemed' for pricing seems to be:
1. A lower price for upgrade than first time buyers,
(made to be as attractive as IK can make it).
2. The ability to use Jam Points to purchase.
(Thereby allowing older users that have accumalated more than newer users with less jam points to get it even cheaper).
Not holding IKM to anything, since none of this was set in stone, it is just what I've seen mentioned as a possibility?
Anyway, that does seem fair to me (a newer user). It really just comes down to waiting and seeing what that upgrade price is now.
And if I'm completely off base Peter, just tell me how far off?

While the SampleMoog library will work in SampleTank 3, the actual plugin itself (SampleMoog) will not be updated. If you have an existing support ticket for this issue, please let me know and I'll have someone look into it. Have you tried loading the SampleMoog library into the latest SampleTank engine available in your IK User Area?yessongs wrote:if the sample moog will find the samples saved in its patches it would be nice so I don't have it crash my daw.

What has anything to do with it?murnau wrote: no way, with evil i only mean he's new here and immediatly correct other members that way? nice introduction.
I merely said it's good for nothing to ask more than it's possible to get at this time AND it is stupid to put down a product not even presented yet, let alone tested and prove unworthy.
But might've been too complicated to understand for some.
I do use ST 2.5 and love it.

I don't have specifics to share but yes we'll have an upgrade available, and we will make it worthwhile for long-time users but we have not stated details so I hope it is amenable to many once we do release the details.BBFG# wrote:Just what I've 'gleemed' for pricing seems to be:

Who are you to say what's possible ? If the GUI is finished and at just over 40 days from reveal at NAMM it most certainly is then it's certainly possible to show it.....iK probably won't for reasons known only to them. If they are afraid there will be negative comments then it's only delaying the inevitable...those comments will come after release anyway. All I said was "show the gui, the whole gui". Not a very controversial request one would think but I guess you can't anticipate the reactions of every newbie. If it's "stupid" to put down a product not even presented yet then it's equally stupid to compliment it.......but that might be too complicated for some to understand........24MTS wrote: I merely said it's good for nothing to ask more than it's possible to get at this time AND it is stupid to put down a product not even presented yet, let alone tested and prove unworthy.
Some of us have been around for years and watched the ST 2 GUI drama play out over and over.....I'd personally not want to see the same thing happen with version 3........only time will tell if it does or not.
"Show us more...tell us more" is actually a very positive thing for iK.......much better than "we're tired of waiting and we no longer care".....pretty simple really........
Oh and for the record.....I do use ST 2.5 and love it.
