I'm very pleased with Dexed 0.8 VST running inside Ableton Live 64 on my Windows box, but no luck on the Mac (also Live 64Bit) - is there anything I'm missing? 0.7 seems to be working ok.

Thanks Legrand
Hey, do you use osx 10.6.8? Doesn't work there it seems, only v 0.7.

Hi guys,

I've ported Dexed and couple of other DAW plugins to run in web browsers.
Demo: https://mediatech.aalto.fi/publications ... awplugins/ (requires Chrome)

Great work! It's really fun to play around with them using the browser. 8)

Hi.

Firstly thanks for Dexed, it's great & appreciated.

I've read this thread but can't seem to find out how to get the Dexed plugin to output MIDI notes to my hardware TX7 (Sysex is sending OK), I'm using a workaround in Ableton using a separate MIDI track but it would be great if you could get Dexed to send it directly. (Maybe I'm missing something?)

Also is there a way to have Dexed automatically send a preset to the TX / DX 7 when it's selected in the list rather than having to go to the send button/menu to send it?

Thanks again, P.

Dexed is doing nicely, we have blakckwhinny's patches.and its totally awesome!!!

All this for free and it surpassew a lot of commercial offerings as it stands considering it is still, for all intents and purposes still in beta stage.

Next step, a usefull useer guide specifically for Dexed,

who fancies getting their hands dirty on a comprehensive Dexed manual.?

My question is now, is this a limitation or some setting I did not understand? I also tried the different player engines, without any change... Is it possible to configure dexed in a way that it emulated the dx7 most accurately?
It's a matter of taste... as an owner of an DX7, I can assert that the original DX7 is somewhat harsh and not so smooth. Dexed tries to capture that DX7 harness but with his own imperfections.

The first engine is the original implementation by the "Music Synthesizer For Android", it is 24bit and it does a great job.

The second one, "Mark I" is the same thing as the first one but it implements Algo 4 and 6 with feedback. In the future, this engine will use the OPL Series algorythm but with a higher sine resolution (e.g. more than 8bits).

The third one, "OPL Series" is the actual 8-bit implementation of the 4 OP family. You can see a clear difference with bass sounds. See this for more info: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 6#p5701636

The target is to put the log-sine waveform algo into the "Mark I" engine.

Yes ! I'm a very bad writer... and I need to make a custom website for Dexed (github.io) so all of this would be better organized.

That's normal, I had (and other users) midi feedback because of this so I've removed standard midi messages to the 'Sysex' port. If you still want to send midi note, you have to create a seperate midi track that feeds the midi notes from the original track. I know it is cumbersome, but at least if something goes wrong, you know where to check.

@asb2m10 no worries, if we can get a few people interested in a collaborative effort such limitations can be overcome.
My thinking is to write a guide to the various controls avaialabe in Dexed and then to follow up with a discussioon of Fm principles without the maths ( if that is at all possible). maybe I will prepare an outline over the next few days and post it for people to feed back on. and anyone who wants to chip in I am more than happy for that. I would like the guide to be written under a creative commons non attribution share alike licence or similar since Dexed may well evolve over time ( so the user guide should be able to evolve fluidly as well).

AU support is already committed in github; if you want to see the current development you need to change to the development branch (right now it is called work-0.8.1). Only code is listed there...

Once a beta builds will be available, I will notify this thread.

0.8.2 will address this (modulation wheel, foot control, *breath control :? *, aftertouch).
