Well, some people here have said it's supposedly heavier on CPU than freaking Serum, so I just wanted to verify that.

I stand corrected.....It does seem to use much more cpu than Serum.zvenx wrote: Thu Nov 19, 2020 11:13 am I thought they were about the same, but let me go and spend a little more time a/b them in those terms.

Yeah, I have noticed the same (maybe not _much_ more on my testings, but a little bit more).
I have same wavetables on Serum + Vital, try to have same filter settings + effect settings on both (some variations due to my knowledge how to set 100% same amounts to vital vs Serum is not top notch).

Come over to the discord. People are much nicer and constructive there. And there are already a ton of user made presets, and some sound really great.theorize wrote: Thu Nov 19, 2020 11:16 am I just want to say i think this synth sounds great haters stay away don't try to ruin this.

Tried to register, but it says "your email is not valid". What a trash.Held wrote: Thu Nov 19, 2020 12:19 pmCome over to the discord. People are much nicer and constructive there. Haven't followed the development too closely - I remember seeing some sort of teaser for this, but after that, it kinda fell by the wayside for me - but I do like what I'm seeing and hearing here. Slightly surprised that the price tag is so low, given how capable the synth seems. Looking forward to the release! c:

Alright alright... that was the second. I typed in 'kitties want dinner' just to see if it worked. Then fed the kitties and started in on this. hehehetheorize wrote: Thu Nov 19, 2020 5:24 amnot where my mind would have went on the first attempt! I will surely do something silly on my first go. Sounds cool thoughpdxindy wrote: Thu Nov 19, 2020 5:18 am Here is my first attempt using the text to wavetable function... didn't use words but rather vocal sounds.

I'm curious more to make something semi-realistic than the typical vocoder type robot sounds and such. Figured I would start easy.
Next effort will be a vocal phrase for a song I am working on. It's tricky fitting into a song melody and rhythm. Vital has the tools to do it.

Try Hive alsowombat778 wrote: Tue Nov 17, 2020 9:53 pm Man, the folks that can hear a difference between Serum and Vital have better ears than I do. When I load up the same wavetable in both, apply the same filter settings, apply the same LFO to the WT position and filter cutoff, and then level match them, I can't hear any difference between Serum and Vital. Even overlaying them in a spectrum analyzer the traces look the same.
well interpolation. a saw is theoretically a saw wave, but practically it never is.fisherKing wrote: Tue Nov 17, 2020 10:08 pm right, but who stops there? where you can go from a basic waveform is the thing... isn't it? otherwise, with every synth, (in theory) a sawtooth is a sawtooth is a... etc. but what happens next?
