If true , that's terrible news :scared:
That's indeed a death knell to anything Reaktor related. Sort of underlines that it's EOL.

Oh well, I just hope it'll continue to work for at least a few years on new operating systems. Once it doesn't, I'll dedicate an old computer to it and use it as standalone hardware.

Maybe he'll create a new Reaktor outside NI since NI doesn't seem to care about this product anymore

that's a real punch to the balls

I have said this before; best to keep an old machine for running Reaktor.

I started reading this thread, as I am curious if there has been recently added a truly user-friendly MSEG? Like the one Bitwig offers. A true multi stage envelope you can save and reuse and shape with as many points as you like.
My dream come true instrument would be a combination of Reaktor sound quality and its immense power with convenience of the Bitwig GRID. Unfortunately the latter, at least to my ears, offers a rather 'plasticky' sound in comparison to the one of the Reaktor.
I found such MSEG but it looks dated, like it was built many years ago.

I'm just wondering if Reaktor is a close-to-be-abandoned product or perhaps someone will roll up their sleeves and update it.

Toybox are absolutely superb, but it seems reaktor is already abandoned.

They've also released a newer version in their Atomic Pack

No one from NI has made any official statement in recent years. But many signs (that were discussed at length over the many pages of this thread) point to NI slowly phasing it out.

The last updates have been to VST3 and to Apple Silicon. Nothing new has been introduced in the world of Reaktor for quite sometimes and outside of Tim Ferris' new thing the community seems to be slowly drying out as well.

If NI chooses to actually discontinue Reaktor, it will be dead like Absynth. Because it contains too many libraries and licenses for someone to "roll up their sleeves and update it" outside of NI.

Plus, as amazing as Reaktor is (i use it almost daily), there really isn't a lucrative market for it. People want preset boxes.

That's true , but the issue was that they never really knew how to promote reaktor , esp the last decade .
Instead of looking for a wider audience , they should have ignored the instant gratification user base and go full throttle on the dsp , add some new syntax method and updated graphics , expand the midi capabilities ( which is really poor in reaktor )
Look at max , it has become a tremendous dsp playground .
Verry sad to see all this happening to reaktor .
I do hope it will get a makeover and specifically tailored at us geeks, but if you have a look at N.I. advertisments on social media whcih is targeting the EDM-trap crowd  , something tells me reaktor will be just an automated ai tool tucked away in a trap beat generator tool .
I has become a horrible company , and seeing reaktor fade away is just sad .
The incompetence of some of the reaktor forum moderators speaks for itself .

It's easy to blame it all on whoever owned or owns the company's leadership. And while that certainly played a part, the bigger part is economics.

Reaktor is waaay to finicy for the majority of the music production user base, which isn't just the "edm-trap crowd" (whatever that means. Many producers in pop, rock, jazz, metal, hip hop - basically EVERY genre outside of a few small techno genres, have little use for something this complicated.

Max-for-live has the advantage that it's an add-on to Ableton Live. That's why most M4L devices these days are workflow-oriented, changing and adding features to the DAW - which is a dream! But Reaktor never had that kind of link to a DAW or system outside of NI.

Add that to its complexity and left-field sounds, and you get a whole lot of reasons outside of NI, which Reaktor is fading out. And I'm willing to bet that "some new syntax and updated graphics" would not have been that one selling point that would have brought Reaktor back.

The saddest thing to me is the community aspect, as the Reaktor User Library was such an amazing, endless source of inspiration. But it paved the way for M4L and others.

But Reaktor was always the best preset box you could ever find! Get tired of the factory library? Go to the user library and download from thousands upon thousands of instruments with new presets (plus randomizer). It is endless new sounds. Perhaps NI could have made the preset upload to komplete kontrol easier for user ensembles though I dunno.

I think it’s really just the failing to keep up with modern screens and resizing etc that hurts it. I still can’t believe a company this size would let go of something like this with such a rich history and community.

I don't see why they can't make it into a "Kontakt for synths" of sort, with frequently released products that are basically preset machines like they do for Kontakt... It would be the best sounding plugin of its kind.
