I may have missed it in the thread, but can anyone say how the content of the World Instruments Collection relates to the multi-format World Instruments disk that was released as a (one-off?) group buy here a few years back? (2005 I believe)

what about the format ...
do we get any wav samples to use in the sampler of our choice or it is a closed format?
i want to use my own sampler because sampletank dont work well with ableton.

ST2 can import wav samples (including to create multilayered presets from *.wav, e.g. "myPiano v101 f#2.wav")DarkStar wrote:No wav samples, closed SampleTank format only.

True, but VSTadapter wanted to use .wav samples from SampleTank in his own sampler.

I have a question regarding the "Vocal Collection" multi-sample library. I'm looking for something for rock background vocals -- kind of Beatle-esque oohhs, ahhss and laas background vocals.
I remember Squids once talking about recording a session a long time ago with, I believe it was, former members of Jellyfish to make this kind of library. I was hoping Squids or someone who has this library could give some insights as to whether this library has those samples and point me to a relevant demo, if one exists? And if this library is not appropriate, is there another SR library that fits the bill? (FTR, I have searched eSoundz carefully before posting this question.)
Thanks,
eDrummist

I picked up the Vocal collection as part of this group buy, and while I haven't had time to go though all the patches, I did notice there were some "Jelly"-named patches. Definitely filled with very good pop-oriented oohs and aahs patches. VERY usable in a mix (and for $12.50 now, and very likely $10 by the end of the group buy, how can you go wrong?).eDrummist wrote:I have a question regarding the "Vocal Collection" multi-sample library. The ST format is closed but there are rumored ways around this, at least for the ST1 format (but probably not for these ST2 sounds, and I can condone none of these workarounds as they're reportedly a bit of a kludge and they probably violate the license agreement).VSTadapter wrote:what about the format ...

STILL -- a legit ST to SFZ converter would be awesome.

i did pay 25.00 with my jam points. i prefer to be an informed consumer. your mileage may vary. i prefer to speak my mind no matter what flow it goes against. i'm looking forward to 5 for 1 so i can have more i map drums. i still might be in for a second buy using the rest of my jam points if i had more detailed demosacidrock wrote:I know times are tough and money is tight, but wow,it's ONLY $50!
I think some people would complain if it was $25.

I have done just a couple of test and importing a wav opens the converter, butSteplton wrote:ST2 can import wav samples (including to create multilayered presets from *.wav, e.g. "myPiano v101 f#2.wav")DarkStar wrote:No wav samples, closed SampleTank format only.

I tend to get the note "can't get the rote note". The sample doesn't sound right played in the ST, I have to try few other wav-examples, maybe I have done something wrong. Harry
Addition: How to do the Stretch-feature where in the vocal sample frase
continues without re-loading the sample from the beginning, when playing the other note from the keyboard?
2. Addition: yes, answer is the legato-mode. Pitty that legato excludes polyfony.

I would rather see files being kept on IK's servers and available in my account forever than 5 for 1 deal. Really. That's one thing (among others) esoundz does really well.kbaccki wrote:The downloads are available on IK's site for 30 days... so make sure you back up whatever you download (which you should always do anywayZamyen wrote:Does anyone know if in future if I need to re-download them I can still access them from the Web site -- Or is it a one-hit download and we must back it up ourselves?).

Hey Whyterabbyt! How's it going? Another long time veteran.whyterabbyt wrote:I may have missed it in the thread, but can anyone say how the content of the World Instruments Collection relates to the multi-format World Instruments disk that was released as a (one-off?) group buy here a few years back? Anyway... don't get the World Instruments Collection if you were in that group buy. Same material. This whole round up of titles is mostly a retrospective of past group buys, capsules and the original Expansion Tank titles. The ones to pick would be categories you don't already have... such as for those who didn't participate or even know about these past group buys OR even the Capsules or original Expansion Tank titles. At this point there are a lot of people that would have missed them or not caught all of them or not been able to participate at the time.
We do have a lot of new world stuff coming however... as for exactly when I am not sure but we've certainly sampled quite a bit! I love world instruments. But, we'll talk about those sounds later... well, except actually I might include some in the optional bonus exclusive pack for those who join this group buy on www.esoundz.com We're making the bonus a multiple choice so instead of JUST a 1 gigabyte collection you could alternative choose say... maybe a 500 meg piano (ohhh) or an exclusive Rare World pack (oh my!) or a Combi Drum Pack with individual kit pieces you can interchange (oh well hey there!) or a synth pack with lots of Moog sounds (woah how do you do?) or more menu map groove construction kits (pleased to meet you! okay I am getting carried away with my parenthesis comments but these are things I do to entertain myself... it is the only way to be on KVR almost every day for 9 years straight! So pls forgive me).
