After that it was too painful to continue reading this thread and seeing how cool Synthix was, so I stopped following it for a while. :(

I have Xils3 and PolyKB and they are fantastic, but it looks like Synthix would really take things to the next level. I can't wait to try out the demo a bit later.

I have to ask... was there some sort of additional discount for previous customers on top of the discount that's ending? It looks like there might be. I wouldn't want to miss it - even though the regular discount is nice already! From being logged in at the Xils-Labs site and not seeing anything in the shop or in the cart, I'm guessing no.

Sorry if my question has been already answered somewhere. I looked through the thread (here as well as in the Xils-Labs forum) and didn't notice anything specific. It's an awfully long thread! If nothing else, consider this as a little bump for a good deal! We have one week left before the price increases! :)
+1. I also would like to know.

Hi Sequent and AlexF,

GOOD QUESTION ;)

Well there was ALREADY a majored discount INSIDE the Synthix Group buy for people who were already Xils-Lab users. This really was not easy to implement and was requested by .... users  So we did it.

Well I've missed myself a lot of opportunities to get into tremendous GBs because I was totally broke at the wrong moment so I can totally understand

This said, following your demands we are studying the possibilty to implement some kind of automatic fidelity discounts for Xils-Lab users. ( This depends on the framework of Xils site ) If the above is technically possible, it will include the purchases made for the Synthix ( exception for Group Buys wich will not add to your voucher counter ), and ALL previous Xils Synths ( Except Synths wich were purchased via the No Brainer deals )

I cant promise anything other than : if its doable, we'll do it.

More on this asap !

Stephen for the X64 version we'll have a look into this one. I think that installing the X64 version in the same directory where the X32 one was intalled is the solution. But eventually there might be some other problems ???

The best way would be to share a common user folder for the presets

Hi Lotuzia,

Thanks for looking into this for all the users! But I wouldn't necessarily call it a demand. Just a question. I know what you mean, I've missed a couple group buys as well. Sometimes things happen in 'real life' as it were that just don't make it possible.

Though sometimes it works out as well. There have been a few times when I've had to pass up that 'deal of the century' and later was glad of it!

Of course that doesn't apply to products from Xils-Labs!

Hi Lotuzia, Thanks for your warm reply. :)

Hi Stephen,

During the install process you have to choose two folders, the first one name "install folder" where all the presets are recorded (factory and users), the second, named "vst plugin foilder" where the vst plug-in has to be copied.

On a 64 bits system, there is a "program file" holding only 64 bits programs, and a "program file(x86)" holding 32 bits program.
But the Synthix 64 bits installer can't see the program file(x86) ! So if you installed the Synthix 32 bits in the "program file" folder, it should have been really done on the "program file(x86)", which can't be see by the 64 bits installer.
That's the problem with windows7 and all the alias, made to keep compatibility and user comfort, but which could bring a lot of headache when things are not as Microsoft has thought.

So is here a workaround (maybe some other are possible)
_ Install the 32 version in a new folder accessible by user (d:/MyPlugInData/Xils-lab/Synthix or something like that)
_ Install the 64 version in that folder too.
_ Copy all the content of your previous 32 bits install version to the new folder.

BTW : on windows 7, the less you are using system folders, the better you are (IMO)

by copying, you won't lose anything of course, and if something is wrong, you can reinstall the 32 bits version in the folder you used to work with.

Hope that helps.

Best regards
Xavier

Hi Xavier, this is why Windows 7 has the shared User folder which is accessible to both 32 bit and 64 bit programmes, bypassing the "Programme Files" duality. For example I have Reaper 32 and 64 bit on my system but both versions share the same folder for presets, themes etc at C:\Users\Stephen\AppData\Roaming\REAPER. Many other plugins with 32 and 64 bit versions do the same. So it might be best to make an installer put those files in that folder somewhere?

Thanks for the feedback Stephen,

I will have a look on this side.

We're proud to announce that :

In the October 2011 issue : A review of Computer Music gives the Synthix a 9/10 and a Performance Award :)

In this in depth review the Synthix is given some very positive points.

On the CD, you can find a demo of the Synthix, SOund Examples, and even the manual :)

I won't unveil the review, I just read it but dont even have the name of the reviewer, but as I read it I suspect him/she to have a very large experience and understanding with both soft and HW analog synthesizers.

The verdict is well ... just read it

There's only one BAD point : On the Alternatively little square, the author give some alternative choices for synths with a similar SOund Quality of Synthix ......... and ............ and ............. and ......... see what are the recommandations ?????????

Well you can still get Xils-Lab PolyKB II ........

Let's be fair play : ImpOSCar II is also mentioned. ( One of my beloved VA softsynths )

Many thanks to CM for having reviewed the SYnthix :tu:

I have installed the Synthix v1.0.1 update, but noticed a loud click whenever I add/load Synthix in my DAW. (I have tried it in Cubase 6, Studio 1 and FL10 with the same results.) It seems fine after it is loaded. I am running Win XP Pro 32 bit with a Cakewalk UA-25 EX. Synthix V1.0 loaded smoothly with no noise. Any thoughts, or has anybody else noticed this behaviour? Many thanks.

Hi Itron,

This is fixed and will be ready within the next version which will also bring the 64 bits compatibility.
(This issue was there on the 1.0 but not as obvious than for the 1.0.1)

Hi Xavier,

Thanks for clearing that up! :) Sometimes I am not sure whether I have done something wrong, or whether these things are caused by a problem on my system, so it is re-assuring to know I am not doing something wrong. :o

I would also like to add my praise to a superb product, a beautifully crafted instrument. Thank you!

Playing with Synthix v1.01 in Studio One...
Interface seems a bit sluggish and also preset changing (I mean it's not instant like in other synths, there is a small delay) but I get same with Xils3 and Poly...so is this normal? Changing gui update speed in options to fast doesn't help.Have no problem with any other plugin...can someone please test in Studio One?
Choosing Seq and clicking on it reports an error...just had a crash in Reaper
Image

And another...ctrl click on the knob should return it to default value...knob returns alright but popup says othervise...bug?
Just checked...all those things happen in Reaper :?
Sound is really great but I'm not happy with my purchase...
9/10 in CM...maybe soundvise I agree...IMO this thing feels somewhat unoptimized, sluggish...hard to work with...U-he plugins should than get 20/10...
Ok, don't want to sound negative, it's a nice synth, hope this problems will be fixed...

Thanks for this report SelFik.
I will check these issues (sluggish GUI and crash with Studio one)
windows XP, 7 ? Osx ? 32 bits or 64 ?
According to the screen shot, seems to be windows.

While working on the 64 bits version, I'm still working on the optimization, keeping the audio quality, obviously.

About Preset changing : there is a 2 second delay between them to avoid clacs and plop, which could be bring during the various connections changes. This could be reduced, but not removed.

Xavier
