Here's a preview of what the new gui is going to look like in terms of layout with a top mixer board that the pedal is plugged into, and also the top and bottom control strips (the bottom one will have more controls when the mods section is open):

Looks Great! Fortunately for us users, it's not possible for your plugs to look better than they sound :)

Can we please have an orthographic projection instead of perspective?

Having so many different plugins with different perspective renderings is just too much to handle.

The shadow around the screenprinting makes it look raised too high as well, it's a bit strange.

The new mix knobs are a fantastic addition though.

It is orthographic.

Ok, I'll lower the thickness of the screen printing paint down a bit to make less shadow :tu:

I think the bottom of the stompbox knobs being at an angle could be throwing him off.

Looks great to me. Much improved over the beta! Look forward to the fuzz, and eventually having a kick ass Cytomic pedalboard!

It doesn't appear orthographic, since I can see the right side of the left knob and the left side of the right knob. With a true orthographic projection the visible portions of cylinders would be matching.

edit: actually, this appears to be an issue with me. I take it back. It still seems wrong for some reason... I just can't pinpoint it.

The orthographic camera is at a slight angle from absolute vertical which is why you can see the front of the knobs a bit. I did try having the camera exactly vertical but it made the knobs look pretty bad. [edit: I'll do a vertical orthographic as well so you can see and let everyone vote which they like best!]

I wouldn't have noticed it all until you said anything, but there's something there. I'm honestly not bothered by it, but when I'm looking for it, I see something as being strange. I think it boils down to: the stomp box knobs are from a slightly lower angle (and the sides are highly reflective which is weird) whereas the knobs at the top of the GUI are completely overhead with no angle.

Still...doesn't bother me at all and I think it looks great.

All my other plugins are vertical orthographic, so I would prefer to keep them consistent. I'll do another render and post it, it's actually looking ok with black knobs instead of the silver ones I was using.

All things are just... reflections!

Maybe a shadow-line between the control section at the very top and the top mixer board? Maybe. The jump from 2D to 3D at the top looks a bit stark.
Maybe make the mixer board textured. Brushed metal or perhaps like the texture of that plug on top of the box.

Do we need the plug at the top? I would leave it off personally.

I like the knobs viewed at a slight angle.

I like the style of knobs on the box more than the ones on the mixer board. I would use knobs from The Drop on the mixer board - I love The Drop design. I realise those knobs might not quite gel here as they are a more modern and creative style and a stompbox has to look kinda 70's :D. But as you have lots of time to try different things I would try that as well and see how it looks. :hihi:

If you leave it as is that would be just fine. It looks great! You can always come back in a year and tweak things. Just quietly I would prefer to have you working on that synth. 8)

It's super-green. Can the color be changed?
