SQ80 emulating VSTi available

My crystal ball shows the GUI now renders properly in Orion I think I also see that the GUI additions make programming it a lot easier.

my crystal ball runs on audio units, so I can't see much of anything yet.

I'm hoping that will change (as in hoping SQ8L gets a mac version, not that I switch to windows. Been there, done that, no thank you.)

Well, this is the best emulating of a hardware synth i have ever heard ! SQ8L is frightenly close to the hardware SQ80 with all the bottom end and details in any sound i made through the years on this lovely synth. I can see in my crystal ball that there's an update on it's way with a lovely updated interface and new synth functions.

I think I mentioned this earlier in the thread, but it bears repeating -

Sigfreid Kullman developed this thing as his computer architecture class semester project working under Rainer Buchty teaching at the University of Karlsruhe, who knows the ESQ-1/SQ80 inside out. Besides using Rainer's expertise, his emulation uses the original wave data from the SQ80 synth, and much of the in-depth circuit/program documentation for the SQ80, which was plied in writing the code.
Rainer himself said that the VST is spot on and even replicates the know AM bug of the hardware version (though not spot on yet). He stated that the only thing that was not quite 100% was the filter emulation. But that was a while ago - maybe something's happened there too?

In a nutshell, as VST emulations of hardware go this one is as close as it gets - and free to boot!

The next SQ8L update is on my harddisk at moment, trying it out for Sigi and it is G.R.E.A.T (hope it's OK to say this here Sigi)
