I hope you don't mind me thinking I once owned a Prophet 5 though.
Or does that in some way offend your sonic snobbery?

Yes, the hardware upgrade might be a required follow on cost. Give it two years though, then i7 or newer will be the common ground.aquar wrote:Yeah its all cool Urs.
Like I said I am a fan of Zebra and perhaps when funds become available I'll prolly blag Diva but Diva really needs a computer hardware upgrade in my case.
And I've reached far beyond the stage where sound quality is that important to me.
As I said before I wish you all the best with Diva even though imo I still think its a little overpriced.
We wanted to price it below Zebra but still high enough to open the possibility to put it on store shelves in shops. With online distribution we can only reach so and so many people, so we need to consider boxed as an option in future.
Also, we figured that it's still a competitive price compared to similar products. I furthermore believe that undercutting everyone else creates a lot of trouble: One needs to make more sales, thus requires more support staff. Thing is, I spent my days mostly on support ever since we have released the first beta. With the lower sales rate of now I can have a quiet vacation and concentrate on development when back...

But really I think you are bang out of order for taking an old thread where I said I loved the sound of the Prophet5 and somehow tried to stitch me up.
Ive never said I loved the sound of the Native Instruments version.
Just shows how forum users can twist and distort to taste based on a few words.

You didnt mention the Prophet5, just the Pro5. It was your second favourite VSTi, don't you remember?aquar wrote:But really I think you are bang out of order for taking an old thread where I said I loved the sound of the Prophet5 and somehow tried to stitch me up.
In response to "What is your favourite VSTi?"
No-one stitching you up except you.aquar wrote:Z3ta+
Even though it sounds digital to the extreme to my ears.
The Pro5 is a very close second, I think both Vst's compliment each other very well though.
The Z3ta+ imo is a misunderstood Vst due to the strange interface, obviously there's a learning curve involved but it becomes rewarding once you get your head around it.
As for the Pro5, well its very much a what you see is what you get kind of synth but I just love the unique sounds it generates with a little tweaking.

We might have had a break even before the introductory offer went out. Until then we maybe sold 20 Divas a day on average, but ever since we only sell one or two, with the occasional third inbetween. We will have to suspend the living of 3 developers, Howie and our newly added Chacka (support/soldering) from this, and similar figures from Zebra/ACE/Uhbik, salted with a monthly sale of Filterscape/MFM2. And that's before taxes, Adwords/ads and fees (amounting to about 60% of revenues).
I'm happy to have a comfortable buffer on my bank account again, which almost dried out last year. May wife and I are in the age where the average German/Aussie has built a house or bought a flat, has a car each and paid well into a pension fund. We still rent, we still have a single 13 years old car and we still have below minimal pensions. We live well though. Good food, nice holidays, enough movement.
I do admit however that the value created at u-he is a different story, using common methods to estimate the worth of a business (e.g. value = annual revenues * x). If I wanted to sell out, I wouldn't need to work anymore. I just wouldn't know what to do with myself. I rather continue. More fun.
Cheers,
Urs

You are still taking things out of context.
Show me a single thread where I said I loved the sound of the Native Instruments version of the Prophet5.
Sure I was impressed with the Pro5 at the time when all we had is a limited set of soft synths but I maintain my position.
The fact that either of you aren't able to comprehend what I am saying suggests that you arent very open to honesty but that's not my problem more like your own
experience of being shit on by dishonest people and quite frankly that's not my fault.

Let's put it that way. I simply value hugs and synths more than houses and cars.goldenanalog wrote:I just hope that we're worth it, Urs.

But as I said several posts ago this thread isn't about me or you.
Its about Diva and I've said all I am going to about what I think about it and its pricepoint.
I'll be more than happy if you take up your beef with me about the Pro5 in another thread but for now its time to move on unless of course you want to talk more bullshit.
oh and you too Krim.
Just read your post same deal.
