I guess the 303 can't be too far behind.

I wonder if the knobs are still circular or if their plugin development has stepped into the 2000's.

I doubt it, after all, they only design the future, not the present. :hihi:

As far as i could see they are still circular, including the JV-1080 plugin (while this one mostly uses faders).

Is it just me or do the Gui's look like they are from the 90's ? I tried programming some of those synths and my eyes just started hurting from looking at those terrible graphics...

They really need to do some market research on how their competition does it, so many developers make excellent GUIs that work very well, not sticking the use to that horrid mouse movement. I'm extremely interested in buying a System-8, but definitely won't subscribe until and if I make that happen. Without the hardware to sweeten the deal, I have other plugins that fill in the Roland sound just fine. Too bad they don't have single purchase prices in line with the best of their competition, that also just grinds on my nerves, they cost $240 each, I love the SH-101 sound but I'll never value a single emulation for that price.
If you have requests for Korg VST features or changes, they are listening at https://support.korguser.net/hc/en-us/requests/new

The SH-101 costs $145 here.

Aren't those the versions that are not being updated? I think that's the problem.

Yes, buggy CPU hogs- the on line version are much better, updated and quite light on CPU use now.

I like the Roland Sound but they often make descisions I strongly dislike. And some of their best units were more or less accidents (303, 808 etc.) Just one output for Jv1080 plugin, SRX boards as seperate plugins.

Also, the price is absolutely ridiculous. You would need to be subscriber for 13 years (roughly 1600$) to get a Jv1080/XV5080 with all 12 expansions.

You suck Roland !

I'm personally against all kinds of cloud/subscription models - but in Rolands defense I must say that they actually seem pretty dedicated. Quite a few plugins have been released lately and while I haven't tried them myself - the general opinion seems to be they are pretty good.

If Roland continues pumping out plugs in this pace maybe in one or two years the price will seem rather attractive.

They don't respond to midi Bank/Program change messages from hardware, their preset "Inc / Dec" buttons don't have a Midi learn option, and the native Roland preset file format isn't recognized by my DAWs (Studio One 3 and MPC Software 2.0).

Mouse clicking the "Inc / Dec" buttons on the VST GUI seems to be the only way to change presets. Am I missing something?
OK, for those that care, I got official word from Roland tech support on this:

"Yes, the mouse is the only way to change presets on the Juno-106 and Jupiter-8 plug-in."

So program/bank changes from hardware isn't possible, and you can't map the inc/dec buttons to midi. :(

Won't stop me from using them via the Boutique control mode, but it makes them less helpful than they could of been.
Christ this bugs the hell out of me. I guess I can't complain too much, as I was one of the lucky ones who scored a free year of Roland Cloud through their FB contest, but still - if I'm going to pay $20 USD a month for this stuff, for chrissakes - let me change patches via my controller!!!

Just wondering, but, do you get to keep one plugin for you free 1 year sub?

No, I have to pay for at least 12 months to get the 1 free plugin. Free trials don't count.

Aw. Well, at least you have a lot of time to check them all out. :)

Monkeys. :D

They really don't have much thought put into UI/UX... Which is a damn shame.
