I’m using a Rise 49, and it’s nice to be able to build a curve that acts like a threshold control so I’m not constantly spitting out pressure into a parameter that’s getting controlled by an envelope as well. For instance, when I want the attack of a sound to have a filter sweep, but later in the note I want to use pressure to mess with the cutoff.
Already there...

Assign pressure to a parameter and then go to the Matrix. You will see the pressure assignment. There is a quick morph curve and if you select that mod slot, the remix graph below lets you create any shape you want. Add as many points as needed. So you can have pressure controlling say 4 parameters and each parameter can have any imaginable curve.

Each slot also has a uni-bipolar switch and a switch that lets the modulation offset left and right.

Vital is likely to become my favorite synth for precise MPE control.

Kalamata Kid wrote: Thu Nov 19, 2020 5:53 pm A few days ago I got the $20 special.
I have not received an email with serial number and download link.
Wait till the 24th?
What happens when you log in here?: https://account.vital.audio/login
I can download the executable there, no serial needed, after install you can load the VST and log in there.
Thanks.
But it doesn't say In the Mix Vital Plus in my account.
I suppose it will be ok at some time.
Will likely download it next week.

Also liked the Lifetime Updates.
Did everyone get the LU?

Hey Matt and all the rest,

I like the sound of Vital very much, to my ears it's very organic, musical and three-dimensional. Of all the software synths I purchased in the last 10 years Vital is once again a synth with a "Wow! That organic sound is produced by my notebook?"-experience (the other ones being Omnisphere 2, Zebra2, Diva, Repro-5, ImpOSCar2, Dune2/3 and Spire).

Many of the presets of the "Vital Plus"-version are too digital-harsh and/or too experimental for my personal taste, but there are a lot of great presets, which sound very organic and also analogish-warm, and which are a charm to play.

I made an 8bar-loop with 4 instances of Vital plus a non-Vital drum track (all effects - except master compressor/limiter - are Vital's built-in-effects):

https://soundcloud.com/markus808-1/mark ... kwork-loop

Ear candy (at least to my ears).

Thanks for this great synth, I'm looking forward to trying and hearing more presets and sounds that show the potential of Vital!

Cheers

This absolutely great show piece how Vital can be much more than just those growl basses and metallic screeching sounds so popular on many Vital demo videos at the moment :D

Doesn't say "In The Mix" in my account either just Vital Plus.

I reached the In-the-Mix (purchase) party nearly last-minute, now waiting for the release party with buffet and Prosecco...
🍸 🍹

A bit confusing that there is no "login" button on the official Vital Audio website, but then I typed in the account/login subsite in my browser, logged in and could download Vital!

Nice, an 80s Xmas tune :)

There is a support email address in the receipt you got when purchasing Vital.

I reported an issue a couple of days ago but have not received an answer yet. I imagine Matt is just swamped with support requests right now.
Thanks, I'm sure he is swamped but it'll be there when he gets to it d:)

Vital is going to make me get an MPE device, not sure which one yet though i want to go as minimal as possible i think, I don't have much space rigt now

The smaller Linnstrument is awesome... fits in a backpack, plenty of range, well built. It has a brilliant user interface. It is really flexible, straightforward and all configuration is done easily on the Linnstrument itself. You can quickly set which midi channels you are using on the fly etc. Best hardware interface I have ever used. No configuration app to install. Works over USB and also has Midi Ports so you can plug it straight into a hardware synth without computer.

Btw, I used the Linnstrument and MPE to play that vocal example from Vital

A cumbersome workaround is to simply create a preset modulation remap curve. It's not as convenient of course as you'd have to load that every time and modify it according to each modulation target too.. but yeah, you can at least affect the response already as it is.

Having said that, I 100% agree with you. Would be nice to have that for everything.. modwheel, aftertouch, pitch and keyboard velocity response. It would simplify things and make it possible to customize your own setup without having to mess around with absolutely every preset separately.

Yeah, but that is a HUGE workaround. Having separate curves for the incoming data would be a much more universal solution for each user. Instead of having to tweak every single preset separately.

Also, it's not always possible or at all easy to do if the used modmap curve is complex to start with. Try modifying one with tons of extremely carefully placed points.. not easy nor fun.
