Well yeah you can do that in twin too. I’m not sure what i’m not understanding lolliquidsound wrote: Thu Aug 28, 2025 1:40 pmIn Serum you can pan (per voice) each oscillator with the NoteOn Rand modulator.Ploki wrote: Thu Aug 28, 2025 10:52 amSo each key hit puts pan somewhere else?vitocorleone123 wrote: Thu Aug 28, 2025 4:26 am
It’s monophonic by default. You can set up XLFOs to randomly pan each/all oscillators.
Is this a thing? Hive doesn't have that. I don't think Serum2 has either. You can do that with mod on both tho.
Sorry I'm just trying to wrap my head around whether you're trying to achieve simple Unison (that Twin does have) or is it something else happening here i'm not fully understanding, and if autopan is a common synth function because i can't recall from the top of my head that any of my usual suspect Synths do that

i'll give it a try to jump into it:
it's actually not thathard:
create an XLFO
attach it to the PAN of the OSC
set it to "retrigger" and "random"
p.s.:
not sure if the attachements work
pss:
not sure if i understand the topic correctly...

I was wrong on the NoteOn Modulation because is not Per Voice; but S2 comes with a Voice Control section that do that.
I'm not sure Twin 3 can be Per Voice...
I need to check.

Twin 3 can not do per voice modulation of anything. It would be a cool feature though and I did ask for it during development/beta. Would be awesome if they could add that as a modulation source for pretty much everything.. that'd open up some very interesting possibilities.
I also asked for the XLFO to be "stepped through" on each note-on trigger (which could then mimic per voice stuff) but alas, I wasn't granted that.
There are so many things, seemingly small additions, that would make this a true monster of a synth but unfortunately so far none of those wishes have been fulfilled.

Maybe they calculated their ROI and it wasn't worth the efforts...

I turn a knob on my OB-6 or e7 and it does this. It’s easy to understand voice panning, I think. It’s per note in Twin3.Ploki wrote: Thu Aug 28, 2025 10:52 amSo each key hit puts pan somewhere else?vitocorleone123 wrote: Thu Aug 28, 2025 4:26 am

That it is, i just don’t think it’s all that common so i asked what implementation are you talking about - this answers thatvitocorleone123 wrote: Fri Aug 29, 2025 4:10 amI turn a knob on my OB-6 or e7 and it does this. In December they said they're still working on adding MPE...liquidsound wrote: Fri Aug 29, 2025 3:10 am Maybe they calculated their ROI and it wasn't worth the efforts...

MPE requires per-voice modulation. Though how extensive those options might be hasn't been indicated AFAIK. If they add an option for per-voice effects modulation along with MPE I'll almost certainly buy it.

Perhaps some more users with a FabFilter account can ask for such a feature (built-in voice panning/spread) on their user forum, which would "force" them to provide feedback.vitocorleone123 wrote: Wed Aug 27, 2025 6:06 pmMy feelings haven’t changed on it. Still love the sound of it. I saved init presets that have voice panning already built in.waxdoctor wrote: Tue Aug 26, 2025 5:30 pmExactly thaaaat!vitocorleone123 wrote: Sun Mar 03, 2024 4:37 pm I do wish that panning voices was built in rather than having to "build" it.
It's a great synth overall.
edit: I've tried it w/o FF user account, but got back: 403 Forbidden Request forbidden by advanced security platform.

Strange that I could comment on Ploki's request for 'Twin3 feature request: option to disable analog drift', though.
Maybe opening up a new request is just for users with an account.

Sure. Never mind that I panning in a lot of synths. I know they are thinking about it and possibly working on it. It wouldn't be the fist time they add major features in a free update. It's just that Twin 3 development already took a huge toll and time in development and they wanted to "keep it simple".. which I found slightly ironic considering the possibilities with it. And indeed, the ROI for Twin is probably not even a fraction of something like Pro-Q, Pro-C and Saturn.
I am however eternally grateful that they did add the limit of modulation routings up to 100 though. Without that it just wouldn't be the same.
