Actually, so is John Anthony Helliwell of Supertramp. Has a superb tone, real expression, very graceful and lyrical as well as being able to do the stupidly fast arpeggios when needed (check out the end of 'Fools Overture' on 'Even in the Quietest Moments' for his soprano line - seen him play it live, and it's fab)..

Thanx Guido - I was very impressed how realistic Miles'tone actually sounded!! Not that I'd expect anything less, of course...ahem :)

Candy Dulfer is HOT!!!

And a great Sax player in my opinion. If I was naming it after someone I'd like to meet. CandysTone is it. It never hurts to make points with the ladies. "Lily was here" off "Saxuality" has a great groove. Saxuality is a pretty hot name, and it might get you a meeting anyway.

Nope. Too much like that ROMpler sax "Candy".

...and we'd have to hard-limit it so it could only play in the key of C.

i'm just sayin......

If Guido stays in his tradition of homages to great players of the original instruments, then I think "The Bird", one of the first suggestions, remains the best - I'm not at all a Parker fan, but he *is* a legend, and the name has the right sort of ambiguity to confuse those who are not "in the know". Either that or a play on the Coltrane->'Trane->Train pun, e.g. "Express Trane".

But if he's open to something different, there are lots of good suggestions out there. I'm just surprised that no one else has proposed "Saxissimo".
