On second thoughts, Friedrich Nietzsche -
"Ohne Musik wäre das Leben ein Irrtum."

ABCDEFG

They're the initial letters of the titles of Chumbawumba albums listed in order of release - except for the 15th, which is simply titled "ABCDEFG".

Okay, another pretentious, inturlekchewal question:

A man, who, when he's not got his head buried in the ground, might be a bit of a fighter, rewrote one of my last's works as a poem (you will probably be most familiar with this from 9 years ago).

Explain.

Post

You are surely referring to the use of the tone poem Also sprach Zarathustra by Richard Strauss as a musical motif in the Stanley Kubrick film, 2001: A Space Odyssey.

The origin of the name Strauss lies possibly in the Middle High German word strûz, meaning "fight". Alternatively, it may have been adopted for individuals with a long neck, in allusion to "Straussenvogel", i.e. an "ostrich".

Yep.

That's me done for the day.

Resolute, the first man and his hymenopteran associates borrowed this from Also sprach Zarathustra in 1980:
Friedrich Nietzsche wrote:Wer in Blut und Sprüchen schreibt, der will nicht gelesen, sondern auswendig gelernt werden.
The album, the song, and just for good measure, a Joe Orton connection, if you please.

Adam (Ant - "adamant") and the Ants - The Magnificent Five from Kings of the Wild Frontier:

"He who writes in blood don't want to be read"
Adam wrote one song about Orton's homosexual relationship with his lover Kenneth Halliwell (Prick Up Your Ears). However, the lyrics didn't fit the pirate theme of the second album (Kings of the Wild Frontier) and were changed. This song eventually became The Magnificent Five.
I had the album many years ago, but being around the age of 10, the literary/philosophical allusion passed me by.
