I don't think Nexus2 can actually be replaced. It offers a uniqueness I don't think you will find in ST3.
Although, until a product is actually released how can we judge?
I will still like to know if ST3 follows VST 2 or VST 3.
I realize some discussion cannot take place as specifics have not been announced. Still, I would think this has been decided.

Hmm, your right, we can't right now. Well I thought it's only about the samples with Nexus. That's something that could be done with ST too, right?I don't think Nexus2 can actually be replaced. It offers a uniqueness I don't think you will find in ST3.

I am about to buy a sample based synth/rompler and I wonder if ST will be the one, if the sounds would be suiting for dub step, house and such.
Tanks for your answer.

2014 NAMM Show, January 23-26, now does this mean Sampletank 3 is just being shown with months being added on to the release, or is it being shown and released around the Namm show?

I'm being more cautious about the information so I'll let you know when I know with enough assurance that the answer is correct and sure. Thanks.dsan@mail.com wrote: I will still like to know if ST3 follows VST 2 or VST 3.

I don't know if ST3 will have the ability; although with ST2 I suppose you could program some sounds like Nexus2, so I don't see why IK will not improve on this. But it is all conjecture and speculation at this time.ragout wrote:Hmm, your right, we can't right now. Well I thought it's only about the samples with Nexus. I'm not much into sound creation and oscillators and etc., etc. I pretty much use VST's as they are with some minor adjustments to FX, volume, etc. Occassionaly I'll tweak something or another but rarely.
So unfortunatley I can't guide you there.
A lot will depend on what ST3 can do and IK is not much in the way of giving us the really useful info. NOT that I blame them for the beating they have taken in this thread alone.
You may be able to gleen some information from the posts that have been made but a lot of questions continue to go unanswered.
I think their FB page gives info on included sample material. Peter has stated much more in the way of bass and guitar than ST2 so I tend to think it will continue to be more analog type sounds and little in the way of what you're looking for.
Please don't misunderstand cause I think ST2 has a valuable place in anyone's arsenal. I also think the same of Nexus2 (even though I don't own it. Statements based on the demo tracks I have heard and my assumption of the VST.).
If you can hold off you may want to wait and see what ST3 brings to the table.

I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

i have been under the impression for the last 10 months that "you" had direct contact with the developers and managers of the Sampletank 3 project... that was "your" insurance that Sampletank 3 was going to be released in 2013... remember?Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:I'm being more cautious about the information so I'll let you know when I know with enough assurance that the answer is correct and sure. question
going forward do not look back at those statements and only the statements being made now going forward count...
you see how things become confusing...
