So I would have to buy that big ass plug-in bundle that includes a version of Sonar that has ProChannel?

Not gonna happen.

edit: to be honest, I had no slightest intension to upgrade. I was just curious.
Optimal number of audio plugins is one more than you currently have.

The solutions offered me, such as giving keyboard "focus" to the synth, or editing key bindings, both of which I had already tried, do not in fact work at all. This is a big problem for me as well as many others, and has been a problem for at least three years. I would love it if this could be fixed. I have other relatively minor issues, but if this were fixed I might stick with Cakewalk. I am currently learning to use Cubase 7...
Still exists as a problem in X3a. I run in to it trying to name presets when saving in U-He plugins, in trying to type text settings in Melda Production plugins, I think there were a few others that I can't remember now.

It's been there since X1, it's highly reproducible, and it's apparently not worth fixing to Cakewalk.

It can be 'fixed' by using JBridge instead of Cakewalk's Bitbridge, but that leads to other problems such as Novation's automap not working.
So to recap, all the bugs people have been complaining about in this thread, which persisted right up through the last patch for X2, still exist in X3.

Another way to look at it: X3 is really X2 with new stuff thrown in...the proverbial lipstick on a pig!

Carry on.

Unbelievable - I submitted several bug reports and Cakewalk forum posts on this bug going back to X1 or even earlier! Their support is truly hopeless.

32 bit plugins has nothing to do with the text input field bug. It happens with the combination x64 OS, x64 SONAR, and x64 plugins. It's just that configuring SONAR to always use JBridge bypasses the buggy VST window handling in SONAR.

Another wonderful workaround. Jbridge used even for x64 vst's. Gotta love it.

So I'm confused........people with constant issues and bugs are NOT secret troll plants that are there just to make cakewalk look bad? Help an old man out trying to understand? :help:

I've got about 70 VSTs - 64-bit, except for three 32-bit ones... No problems on X3 with Bitbridging or the 64 bit plugs. I actually bought jBridge to use with Studio One, but haven't needed it with X2/X3.

It should be obvious that there are a lot of us who encounter no problems... Comes down to system components, setup, plugs used, workflow, etc.

I think you understand this perfectly well, hibidy. It's a shame you have to keep coming back to any Sonar--related thread and post over and over and over -- all negative sarcasm - when you don't even use the software anymore.

For an "old man", you show a remarkable lack of maturity and self-restraint in this regard. I also wonder when you have time to make any music.... Or is that secondary to posting all day on the audio forums? Help a Middle-aged man try to understand.

Everyone always tries to put others down by trying to say they don't make music :nutter: I've never understood this put-down tactic? Care to explain it?

And so? If no one complains about it then nothing gets done.

Besides, you are supposed to be busy making music. Why are you here then???
