I have both Dim Pro and Rapture but don't use them at all tbh. I use Hybrid 3, Synthmaster and Z3ta+2 as my main synths ahead of Rapture and never really rated the quality of the Dim Pro samples much...
I already have Rapture Session inside Sonar Plat and occasionally make use of it - it's quite easy to use with some OK sounds..
I don't really have much in the the way of sampled sounds/romplers.
From the reviews it looks like it's got a lot of newly sampled stuff like cinematic soundscapes, hybrid synthesised and sampled patches etc.
For £31 is it worth picking up? I'm in two minds but it looks like it probably brings stuff to the table that I don't currently have in my budget synths...and £31 does seem quite cheap - in my sub $50 budget buy range..

Now that Rapture Pro can be authorized offline, it seems a much better buy.

According to info at Cakewalk, Sonar Platinum includes Rapture and Dimension Pro, not Rapture Pro

Only Rapture Session comes with Platinum. I believe it comes with every tier of Sonar.
Tangled roots perplex her ways.

But I can understand that names can become confusing, so a look at history reveals...
Dimension Pro and Rapture was launched end of 2005/early 2006
Rapture Pro was launched in 2015 as a combined v2 of these plugs
Rapture Session is the cut down version of Rapture Pro, and is sort of an updated Cakewalk Sound Center.

Well, indeed you are right! I must have bought Rapture Pro in an earlier sale and forgot I had!Numanoid wrote:According to info at Cakewalk, Sonar Platinum includes Rapture and Dimension Pro, not Rapture Pro

[Edit - yep, bought it late November during the Black Friday sale, it appears, along with Z3TA+ 2. Both are wonderful!]
Thanks for the memory jog!

I just upgraded to Rapture Pro even though I'm not a fan of Henry or Gibson and it is basically the same exact synth as the original...
The synth engine in Rapture is excellent - really high quality stuff...
I like the new workflow but there is one thing that I thought was really rude of the "new" developers...
There is no credit given to Rene Celballos for his genius behind this synth...
Without Rene,Cakewalk would have no Rature,Dimension Pro or Z3TA...
So they need to "right their wrongs" and show a little respect here

Are those three free Dimension Pro packs (Expansion Pack 1, Expansion Pack 2, and Expansion Pack 3) already included in Rapture Pro or should we download them?

Also, any other packs to grab and add to Rapture Pro?

I just upgraded, was keeping cautious for a while as Rapture Pro seemed to have a bit of a rocky start. I already have Rapture and Dimension Pro so this doesn't offer a whole lot of new ground, but I think it's worth the update price alone for the new interface. Both Rapture and Dim Pro were very clunky to use in my DAW (even loading patches was a nightmare) and you needed a microscope to program the things - the new interface fixes a lot of that and it's now a pleasure to program. Definitely an underrated synth.

Hope not many bought Rapture Session, as it can be had for free from Beat Mag issue 125 now

Yep, just discovered this myself. Worked out nicely. Though I doubt I even bother to install it as I have both Dimension Pro and Rapture anyways.Numanoid wrote:Hope not many bought Rapture Session, as it can be had for free from Beat Mag now

I just don't get how to load the included content into Rapture Session
All I can see is Rapture Session Factory Lib which only holds 105 patches, as follows:
15: Atmospheric
15: Bass Synth
10: El Piano
15: Lead Synth
10: Organs
15: Pattern Synth
10: Piano
15: Strings
But the Rapture Session sub-folder in the Cakewalk Content folder has 450 prog files. How can I load these into Rapture Session, I see no option in Rapture Session to assign where to look for content, and I CCC I have set the path correctly, but yet only 105 patches show up ??
