Sorry for my question but I'm a newbie So - by "totally removed this feature in the latest dashboard version" does that means if on is using some old version of dashboard still will be able to write scripts? Also where can I learn about "littlefoot scripts"? Thanks

Well the good news is that they have now told me it is coming back in 'Blocks Code'. No more detail at the moment, but if by 'Blocks Code' they mean a new app instead of dashboard to handle that side of things, I guess it makes sense because having it all built into the UI of dashboard was probably confusing people who were never going to do any script editing etc.

As for learning about it, there are a few pages on the net which give an intro to littlefoot, and some example scripts on GitHub, but all these examples tend to be geared to the lightpad blocks rather than the seaboard block, and assume some level of c-like programming experience so depending on your level I don't think this is the best time to have a look at this stuff in a seaboard context. I will be sure to post here again when this situation has evolved, in the meantime here are a few links with the limitations I already mentioned.

they told me they have been maxed out since the latest hardware release - that's one of the new blocks?

my query was about cash back and it took over 2 weeks - I prodded them into action by attempting to post on their facebook page - as everything is monitored before it's posted that probably got the marketing people to kick the support people.

still, not good if you've paid for a premium product and you are basically back of the queue due to a low margin high volume product going out to a possibly less technical market.

Not a good start. There are companies that sell products much much cheaper than Roli and their support response has been almost instant. I might actually try to post on the Facebook page and see if that does anything.

I suspect it's a volume of support requests thing - either they need to recruit or this is a hump that will go away - it would be nice if they had maybe a person or two dedicated to the Seaboard Grand and Rises as their priority support duties to prevent a reaction from those that have received fast support in the past and expect it now.

Just finished unboxing my Rise 49 and playing around with Equator for maybe 15 minutes. So far so good, I don't think I'll be sending this puppy back. It's definitely easier to play than a Continuum and quite a bit of fun already.

So far I'm not too enamoured by the Equator presets but I'm still downloading the extended library so I may revise that opinion. I do quite like the 'String section and Horns' preset, not the best strings I've ever played but the poly-AT really does add something to the equation. The synth and lead sounds are not to my taste, although the fact that I'm using cheap crappy headphones right now is not going to help (I can't find the mini to regular jack convertor for my Sennheisers).

I do wish that they would have separate pitch-rounding settings for the wave and top/bottom areas. As far as I can tell the exact same pitch-rounding settings are applied for all three areas. I would love to be able to to have some settable pitch-rounding for the waves section and a weaker or no pitch-rounding in the top/bottom areas.

I would also have preferred a wider dynamic range for the pressure, in particular the pressure required to max out the pressure reading. It's not too bad (and certainly much better than than the minimal range provided by the CME X-Key) but it would be great to be able to 'dig into' those keys a bit more before they max out. But it's slightly better than I had expected.

I'm just unboxing my Rise 49 - I swapped it out for the 25.

So far I've not really got on with Equator - I found more that works for me in the MPE library within Strobe 2 (which you also get free) and Falcon (which you don't).

I wonder if claiming a serial for Bitwig, Strobe2 or Tracktion would cause any problem if you want to return the product within 30 days. I'm pretty sure I will be keeping it but who knows what I might run into in the next couple of days.

It's a keeper! Believe me. This instrument is loads of fun! I plan to hook it up with Omnisphere tomorrow and I'm excited as hell!
That said, Equator has a fair bit of filler in terms of presets but I absolutely love the flute type patches. Stuff like this was what the Seaboard was made for.
I had no tech issues so far. Still need to install Strobe and Bitwig though

I probably wouldn't claim any serials until you are sure you'll keep it. Equator is probably the best out of the box synth for the RISE. Its really easy and fast to modify settings and select modulations. Try creating a patch from scratch and play around with that, turn off the reverb, delay and all of that. You have 3 oscillators plus 2 samplers to play with.

I was hoping there would be a way to trial Omnisphere but they don't offer that. Quite a bit of extra cash, especially after spending a fair amount on a Rise 49 and the Streichfett (which I'm definitely digging). But that Legato Strings demo, man...

Not sure I have a continuous sustain pedal though, although I do have some expression pedals but that's not quite the same.

Hi, I've done this and I'm about to do it again.

I had a Rise 25 on loan. When it went back and you surrender the licence then the Equator and Dashboard disappear but the Strobe2, Tracktion and Bitwig codes remain.

When I got what I thought was my final Roli 25 I then got another set of download codes.

I'm about now to go through this again because the 25 has gone back to be replaced by a 49.

I'm expecting to see 3 licences for Strobe2, Bitwig and Tracktion.

Not sure if this appeared last time but this time when I unregistered the Rise I got a message saying that any 3rd party software will remain in my account.

I assume I can therefore sell on the spares, ie Trackion Waveform, (with or without Melodyne 4 essentials which can be parted out) and the Strobe2.

I get the impression that even with the <> controller all the way up there is still a bit of a glissando effect if you slide slooowly on the top or bottom area, it's not completely smooth. If I can find the time I might look at the data it's outputting but does anyone agree this is happening?

There appears to be a bit of jump in the Roli's hardware pressure response curve at the extreme end (maximum pressure) but if I change the pressure response curve to a curved logarithmic-like shape in Equator like below it doesn't bother me as much.



Other than that I'm still having fun with it and I'm seriously thinking of getting Omnisphere 2 and a continuous sustain pedal (waiting for Spectrasonics to get back to me on that), although I should perhaps first try it with some of the sounds in my Fantom-X and XV-5080 which have the Complete Orchestra and Strings SRX card in them.
