No and that's what finally made me move to an all 64-bit setup.
Wait. What ?? No 32bit ? I not believe in it. Damn. I've already started to save up money for buy.
No, seriously, maybe you're just not aware of? :(
Would like to hear the answer from the support. Maybe then the 32-bit version is planned?
There is no 32bits version on either Mac and PC.
In 32bits you can access so few RAM than honestly it's really time to move on especially
now that they are some bridges for very old plugin.

Please let me know what is dragging you to keep using 32bits version.
Hi otristan, well, this is as i already wrote http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 5#p6284158
And what else about bridge - I understand that it can work well, but it is relatively. Of course this does not add stability (and cpu lightness) of plugin work, like any such crutch device. While this the problem even without bridges.
And one more thing (maybe it's stupid?) I sometimes think that the 64-bit still slightly raw, i mean - if you take the same plug-in and compare his work in two versions (32 and 64) then in 64 bit more chance to get any kind of problem. Although maybe it was before ..I do not know.
For example one user recently wrote specifically about Izotope plugins that GUI of 64 bit work slower than 32 in his DAW. (Maybe it was a problem on his side, I do not know.)
It will be necessary to test 64-bit. Maybe I really vain behind the progress.

(In any case - why would not save 32-bit version? After all - it had MF3, and this was no problem).

I was trying to get Simons' Ambient Strings to stay somewhere convenient on the right pane so that I wouldn't need to drill down to it every time I want to load something. I tried setting the path and making it recursive (all three options, actually), but it won't stick. I know why it doesn't appear on soundsets (I think)- It's not a UFS file. No worries there. Guess I'll rtfm and figure how to get it into "Places" and dump the other random stuff that got there by default...
I knew that learning to read would pay off some day. :dog: :D
Places is your friend here, just right click on a location ones you have located it and it will get added to your favorite places.
For me things I put in Places only work once, when I next start Falcon the things I put there are generic icons that no longer work (Windows 8.1 x64). I guess a bug report is in order ;-)

Cheers,

Tom

Edit: Found a solution in the other thread: only add things to Places from the Devices browser, not from within Places itself, then it works.

Hope this works better than in MachFive - you can add places but can't remove them again.

First off, Falcon is not MachFive 4. For many of us, it's not an adequate replacement for MachFive3.2.1. Doesn't matter how many insist that it is, as long as it can't handle the same sample formats, doesn't include Biosphere and many other features, then it isn't. That's ok, actually.

The Falcon synth engine is very nice it that's what you are looking for but the UVI product lacks too many of the features that M53 owners like I use.

I'm not a big synth person. The inability of Falcon to import sf2 and EXS24 files is a deal killer for me. That's ok, others will be able to use this tool.

There have been hints that M5 owners will be pleased with an upcoming announcement. That's nice. If it's an inexpensive cross-grade, I might go for it (or not). If MachFive 4 is on its way, that will be better and I'm in.

It doesn't include Biosphere, but it DOES LOAD IT. Falcon loads all MF3 libraries without fail.

The only thing that Falcon lacks compared to MF3 is various sampler format support. Everything else it does include, and in many ways improves upon.

Apart from the mentioned lack of certain import formats (that don't bother me tbh) what else is it missing? Seems to me it has everything M5 has in terms of sound production and fx, plus some things enhanced or added. Since I have MachFive I have Biosphere etc anyway and I'm told they will load perfectly in it too (precisely because it has everything MachFive has).

I think you're wrong, no matter how strong you insist.

Just a weird first experiment which i made in a few minutes played with one finger. I used 3 of my own recordings (a finger snap against a lamp, the metal sound of an old fence and a stone i trough in the water, recorded just with the iPhone mic) which i imported into the 3 different granular OSC, added a noise OSC and of course some FX and modulation.
I really love this thing. It feels like a mad scientist cooking something up in the labor :)
This thing will fits well for my next dark sci-fi theme :borg:

Adding/removing places works perfectly fine here on my MacPro.

Adding is easy, but how do you remove them then? I tried rightclicking, pressing backspace, function/backspace (del) but nothing works. Same in prefs where you set folder paths, I can add more but can't delete any.

Naa, try again - low end and “bite“ is fine, its a very neutral engine, you decide how it sounds, not the engine.

I was referring to Falcon, never really used places in M5.

I don´t mean it is bad in this terms but f.e. Dune 2 is far far beyond here. I tryed to recreate a similar effect but the envelopes seems not fast enough for extremly fast filter changes etc.
Of course it is another tool and i will try to achieve that.... so it might be a user fault here and i didn´t do it right. I wish i could play with this the whole night now. It´s really an awesome sound design tool

It could indeed go to my NR.1 when i once get used to it and put Alchemy 2 and Dune 2 back to my Nr.2. At least i already like it more than Omnisphere 2 (beside that Omnisphere has the best sound sources included) and that means something.
But it´s of course all a matter of taste!

Cinebient: Verrrry nice horror patch! If you're getting that so easily, I shudder (don't say that, Halloween is over, dude) to think what you'll come up with later...

Thank you! Most of my patches are more experimental. No bread and butter sounds ;) I think i will make a little patch bank for sure which i share then!
