I dig it! Only thing that sticks out to me are the walls of the stomp box knobs. They're shiny and reflective which looks odd. Love the green BTW. Stomp boxes should be colorful.

Please let me know what you think!
If you can see the underside of the knobs, you should see the upper side of the footswitch (which appears to have very little depth in the GUI). Also the angled section under the knobs could be a little shorter (sort of about half the depth of a knob?) with a heavier knob shadow/reflection. The edge of the enclosure should tapper inwards ever so slightly from the jack inputs down to the bottom too, to give the impression of the angled surface.

Just nitpicking though... it looks awesome! And don't worry, the greener the better with these things...

I actually prefer the darker one too but because I don't like green, but this is just nitpicking...

In my opinion u improved general understanding for guitar players.

while I like numbers better, I am certain that most people would relate more with knobs. and guitar players are not the brightest people in my experience (being one of them that is)

this is also nitpicking but u can make the power cable drop off with ur mods and u can even put battery leakage to look nasty too. but that's just a way to waste time and resource if u feel u are up to haha

looking forward to the official release.

if possible, can u make a sans amp emulation? think u would grab lot of attention too. thanks.

Here are the latest renders, this time with vertical orthographic projections. I've also started added a few scratches and scuffs. This is not the final lighting, this render turned out a bit dark.
The latest render looks much better to me and doesn't give me that uneasy feeling in my stomach.

Thank you.

The scratches are a bit distracting though, not sure if I'm really on board with that. It's a very familiar look, but it's also unnecessary visual noise.

I prefer the old one 8)

I had to do it. The plugin looks amazing. Nitpick yourselves into oblivion if you want, but damn.

+1 for the vertical viewpoint and the scratches. Looks great.

It looks fine. GUI is the only thing holding up a 1.0 release?

Wow, lot's of nitpicking about the looks, I'd say it looks fantastic. I believe it's smart to have it be green so people will recognise what it's supposed to be/sound like. + This is supposed to be one of several stomp boxes so it only makes even more sense if you think about the complete picture of several of these. Having it be grey just because of a taste choice in that case would not serve the goal of communicating what it is properly and how they differ from each other.

I guess you could get really clever, an dhave it change colour when you emulate a SD-1 or gridsmasher -)

Yes, quite!

Here is the latest render, this is getting much closer to final production quality in terms of lighting and texturing, and remember that the gui will look half the size on most machines by default, this is the retina (double pixel density) version which doesn't resize easily on phpbb systems so looks massive:

The gui is part of the final release, but by no means the thing that will take longest. The MD mode is the most technically challenging, but the R&D for it is done. There is just a large amount of slog in doing regular release tasks like the manual, audio demos, presets, and production ready features like silence detection switching to bypass etc.

Thanks for picking up on the floating text, I re-moddelled the main case and it ended up a few millimeters shorter than the old one so the text cast a shadow, all fixed in the latest render.

I had to cheat a little with the knobs to get them to look "right", I tapered the knobs inwards so you get to see their sides and also reduced the natural Fresnel effect to unnatural levels to reduce the specular reflections at glancing angles, but since I'm doing an orthographic projection some cheats are required like this to make it look ok.

This version is full of empty space... I just don't see the point of it compared with the beta UI (other than mix knobs).

Perhaps we can have the option to switch between the two?

Are there sonic differences in the release version?

ZdB
There will be no sonic differences between the old an new release, but there will be a new MD mode for lower cpu at the cost of detail. There won't be an option to switch between different gui layouts, the final one will be it moving forwards.
