Hi everyone,
Ohm guy here. Long time no see. I see a lot of you still have frustrating experiences with Ohmboyz Infinity.
I will say this for context - I had personal issues, and this led to a fair amount of you being let down. The company itself had some internal problems.
I don't only want to say that we/I apologise, but I also want to make clear we hate the idea of taking advantage of people. If you somehow paid for it but never could use it and are tired of trying to get it working I want to find way to refund you (it's complicated so much later in the process but we'll seek for ways to).
Now me coming back is obviously a sign things are a bit better atm and an attempt at sorting things out and clean the slate as much as can be.
First there has been some nagging issues tied specifically to the early access handling of the beta, which yes, went poorly. I suspect a lot of you had this issues where a certain build being installed led to all subsequent ones having issues - while if they were installed for the first time there would not have been. The support on this is complicated bc as you can guess it's not easy to test it.
I am trying to go back to all the unattended support there is for Ohmboyz Infinity. I did accumulate a back log, I am faulty of this, I wasn't great. Although in fairness it's not a huge one considering the sales, which lead me to think that this product works for most buyers fine. It certainly does in our testing rigs.
I don't have it in me to read back all the history just yet (priority to the mail support back log) but I will follow up on this reply (or die trying
)
So whatever issue/rant you still have, fire. Also if you like the product, I'd love to pass it on to our internal chat.

i'd prefer to have a working native version of it for apple silicon. but if that's not the plan then a refund would be great.

You're supposed to have a working non native version and tbh it's unclear what a native one would bring. Performances would be better, sure, but would you notice?dayjob wrote: Mon Aug 07, 2023 7:25 pm i'd prefer to have a working native version of it for apple silicon. but if that's not the plan then a refund would be great.
If you're version isn't working it's a different story though.
For refund do mail us. We now have a process to handle those twice a week that has been working fine for the last month.

i guess, as well as performance boost, a native version would keep working after apple drops rosetta support and also i'd be able to use the VST version which currently doesn't show up anywhere when running a host natively.Red_Force wrote: Mon Aug 07, 2023 7:41 pmYou're supposed to have a working non native version and tbh it's unclear what a native one would bring. a lot people running apple silicon systems have stopped using non-native apps and certainly stopped buying them. If you don't have a plan for a native version you might as well make Infinity a Legacy plug in as far as apple systems go.
anyway, it's a bummer because i know it sounds great and years ago when i was able to get it to work i liked using it.. even sending sound/video snippets to someone there at ohmforce. I own all the ohmforce plug ins and they all still rate imo. they all sound great.
blah. guess i'll go for a refund and if things change in the future i'll have a look again

The seeing the VST bit is unrelated to native or non-native. You should see it no problem.
Your take on not buying non-silicon native surprises me but I'll look into it. Most of the people at Ohm are Mac guys. But we didn't talk enough at the coffee machine, bc remote working for years. Just asked them. If anyone here wants to chime in it will be interesting.

So mind your own business and be happy with your choices. No-one is ever going to switch to Windows because of your blinkered opinion.

It is a bit of a head scratcher watching Mac users make the same complaints over and over and over. Reminds me of when I got a new robot vacuum and it couldn’t read the glass doors as barriers and continued to try to get outside, but at least with that one I was able to use the app to manually draw a barrier for it. Sadly there’s no app for Mac users. They’ll just keep buying them and keep complaining about compatibility issues, as if they haven’t happened many times before. This is the way.biomechanoid wrote: Tue Aug 08, 2023 12:28 pmrobindrieghe wrote: Tue Aug 08, 2023 12:22 pmsure....but a weiner that doesnt have to nag all the time about m1 and rosetta and whatever and whos plugins all work steady without fear![]()

True, it’s hard to reprogram cult members, but illuminating the issue may help future generations of making the same mistake, so this is my business. If I can help one person avoid the pain of finding out their plugins no longer work due to an OS update, I’ve completed my mission.biomechanoid wrote: Tue Aug 08, 2023 1:37 pmzerocrossing wrote: Tue Aug 08, 2023 1:34 pmIt is a bit of a head scratcher watching Mac users make the same complaints over and over and over.
