They look nice, and they have a big sound, even their moderately priced gits, like those above. Their higher tier instruments are eye candy and with the Adi tops and scalloped braces, they're very powerful, from gentle strumming to full throttle bashing away, they impress. So, you think, a proper setup will make it amazing. Wrong. There's something off with the frets and string spacing. All except 1 had problems, and I foolishly sold that one.
I can't afford a real 000 Martin, and I want a small mahogany/spruce git. Cort Gold models are nice, but I don't like them on ethical grounds.

Not in the physical realm, but bought Dry Relic, Songwriter, Hollowbody Blues and Vintage Gent from OTS, and will be buying MODO GUITAR if it ever turns up.

Bought a UA Dream 65 Reverb Amp pedal. I just wanted one for convenience mostly. Tube amps
are too hot to run comfortably in my room at times. This amp sim pedal seems to be the one to beat
(for the Deluxe Reverb anyway).

That's a nice little upgrade for not much money! Brass saddles are great.
For Strat players, those new locking Wilkinson saddles are as good as it gets.

I've been toying with the idea of selling my CAR MiM Tele with DiMarzio Twang Kings, but I doubt I'd get any kind of guitar that I'd enjoy as much for less than 300€ more, which is where I'd go, but this Tele has been set up to perfection, and it has that really nice neck tone. My Strat has Hot Noiseless pups, and I'm ambivalent about them. They don't sound quite Fender-y quacky enough. So, everytime I pull the Tele out to check it out to see if I should sell it, I put it back in its case.

So, the sound of the Universal Audio Dream 65 Reverb pedal is pretty impressive. Definitely something
to consider for zero-hassle vintage fender-ish tube amp tones.

Just arrived last night:

Maurizio Über Basses (MÜB) Miezo 18. 5-string, dual coil Bartolini pickup, raintree body and ovankgol fretboard. The "default" tuning is BEADG an octave above a standard 5-string bass, but I tuned down to ADGCF. Cello range, pretty much.
It's perfect for me. I prefer a shorter than "short scale" length anyway, and there's no headstock to bash into my other gear while sitting at my studio desk. The tone is perfect, sounds solid and clear on its own and is a good platform for effects, spectral processing, or pitch-to-MIDI conversion. The pitch range is exactly where I want to play most of the time anyway for my ambient/drone stuff, and Pitchproof works great if I want to drop it a fourth or an octave or whatever.
A couple more photos and long-winded blathering about it are here.

Two pairs of pickups (4 humbuckers all up). Locally made, and they sound amazing. Such an upgrade, for both guitars. Most of a guitar’s tone really does come down to - apart from the playing of course - pickups, amp and speakers. In my experience, anyway. Oh, and probably microphone(s) where relevant.

That arrived. I'm not bothering to open the box. It's going back.
Like Charlie Brown and the football, I'll give Eastman 1 more chance.
