Y'know when you're scrolling a thread and the screen clips it so you just see part of a post, and wonder to yourself when did I post that(?), and then you scroll further and see it wasn't you?

Couple of fun things to do with Strega:
- run the subharmonics output through something to multiply the frequency (a tempo-synced LFO or two in series, Tides, Kermit, Sync3, whatever) and use that as another voice. It wobbles all over but complements the main oscillator pitch, sort of.
- and then you can use the 2nd CV output to control a VCA for that wobbly voice... it just sort of does its own thing.
Also:
- feed the headphone output back to the audio in. Turn decay all the way up, but use the envelope follower CV to negatively modulate it, so it's self-damping.

Bought a MyVolts Ripcord for the Digitakt. Now I'm mobile!

^^ Nice, never went for the Digitakt myself as the Model Samples was really quite good I thought.
Also I have that Isla S2400 thing, which I still need to figure out completely. DIgitakt looks fun though.

I don’t think I ever gave Model:Samples a chance!pekbro wrote: Sat Mar 26, 2022 6:25 am ^^ Nice, never went for the Digitakt myself as the Model Samples was really quite good I thought.

I was never looking for a sampler. I thought Blackbox was going to do what I needed but IMO it’s cumbersome as anything other than loop recording and loop triggering.
For Samples and Cycles, I kept hearing about the pads being too firm and simply wrote them off.
Then I started watching someone program the Digitakt and was blown away by how quick the results were.
I don’t like the clacking sound of the “pads” but it’s a fair trade off for speed.
Now that I’m getting used to it I’m seeing all the comments of why would you buy a Digitakt when you can have most of the functionality in Samples!
It’s okay though. I think I’ll be using the MIDI tracks and I’ve been heavily using all 8 tracks so far.
I still haven’t loaded custom content on it yet, but I’m getting there.
I like the workflow so much that I hate to say it, but I’ll likely get Digitone by the end of the year too.

Just ordered an MS-20 style filter on spec from Hampshire Electronics, £69 with shipping, looks like it has a decent amount of control over tracking and you can normal it to bandpass. They do a version for a tenner cheaper, but it’s 20hp wide. Will let you know how it sounds.

https://hampshireelectronics.co.uk/prod ... le-in-10hp
Also ordered a 2600 vco which takes me to 6 vco and 6 vcf which takes me to the limit of what I can export audiowise directly into my pc without further spending though I get some wiggle room with Elektron units and their external inputs.

It really is excellent, much like you had said about Swart. I love it and feel like I should never need another amp. I couldn't recommend them more if your country ever eases up on import fees and whatnot or one ever turns up used over there for a reasonable price.resynthesis wrote: Sat Mar 26, 2022 9:39 pmI'm jealouspekbro wrote: Tue Mar 22, 2022 2:37 pm So the Swart Atomic Jr I got sounds incredible. Just got my order in for the padded cover they make for it and think I am definitely going to need to get the attenuator as I really can't turn it up past 2 or 3 without disturbing the neighbors.

The 2600 vco arrived so of course I had to immediately mix all four outputs plus FM into a big sound.
Impressed especially by the pulse output, gets phat, and the tuning stability is rock solid which I wasn’t expecting. What this has shown me is inevitably I need a shit load more patch leads.

I'm surprised Behringer doesn't come out with a cheap line of patch cables. F*ck, I might even buy those if they did...WatchTheGuitar wrote: Tue Mar 29, 2022 11:35 pm The 2600 vco arrived so of course I had to immediately mix all four outputs plus FM into a big sound.

Indeed. I'll take 100 of these, the instant they are available.pekbro wrote: Wed Mar 30, 2022 1:28 am

Those tiny Microbrute patch cables were great! The white braided ones that came with the Minibrute 2S aren't too bad (a little more practical for a lot of things) but they don't quite have the same appeal.
In not super exciting new hardware news, I ordered a bunch of red Bananuts. I got them to help clarify the outputs on the Strega a little, but after a few more hours with it there's no confusion anyway. But they look sharp on a black panel module (I have them on the outputs of my Mimeophon). I'll put them on the Minibrute too just for the hell of it.

The ones that come with the Korg MS-20 Mini are great, but not available from them directly
