Synthmaster 2.8 just crashes Reaper every time I load it. I wanna be excited about 2.9, but I want to use 2.8 first:( I would have bought Synthmaster One if 2.8 worked right.

Awesome synth, but straight out of the box it sounds a bit to sterile to me and doesn't make me smile nearly as much as Synthmaster. Just a subjective thing but usually that's where my money goesEnochLight wrote:Eh... I didn't have any stability issues whatsoever with SM 2.8 and reaper up to v5.5.1(64bits, Win8.1) and I've played and clicked the living crap out of it.braj wrote:Synthmaster 2.8 just crashes Reaper every time I load it. Do you mean that reaper crashes while you're loading up SM2.8?

Yep, as soon as I try loading 2.8, on Reaper 5.51, it crashes. It has crashed for a while in previous versions of Reaper, I've tried deleting the config file for 2.8, and tried launching Reaper in Admin mode, I dunno what is wrong, but I just move on and use other plugins. Is there something else I should try?atya wrote:I didn't have any stability issues whatsoever with SM 2.8 and reaper up to v5.5.1(64bits, Win8.1) and I've played and clicked the living crap out of it.braj wrote:Synthmaster 2.8 just crashes Reaper every time I load it. Edit: I just tried a complete uninstall/reinstall, same issue.
Aaaaaaaaand it crashes Live 9 Intro as well.
Windows 10, i7 3440 16 GB RAM. I ran the uninstaller, but is there something else somewhere that is needing to be deleted?

Probably the config folder - and then try to reinstall it.

Well, I went ahead and deleted the whole Synthmaster folder in the Documents, then also ran the uninstaller. The folder I had the stand alone installed in wouldn't delete, specifically the Skins folder said I didn't have permissions. I rebooted, was able to delete that folder, then reinstalled. Launched Reaper, and tried to add SM to a track. I got the register dialog, PROGRESS! but as soon as it registered, it promptly crashed Reaper.Kumi_27 wrote:Probably the config folder - and then try to reinstall it.

My suspicion is it is a skins/resizing issue.

Or permission problems.braj wrote:The folder I had the stand alone installed in wouldn't delete, specifically the Skins folder said I didn't have permissions. I rebooted, was able to delete that folder, then reinstalled.
Tried to run installer in explicit administrator mode? Or maybe to run Reaper in administrator mode?

Try iObit Uninstaller: https://www.iobit.com/en/advanceduninstaller.php
It not just uninstalls things, it also cleans up all remainings and delete registry entries.
Then reinstall Synthmaster. I concur that Synthmaster works and behaves well with all the hosts I have here, so, it has to be something related with your particular configuration.

OK, I just found out the problem: there was an older version hidden in my VST folder somewhere, I guess that caused a conflict, I deleted that, restarted, and now everything seems ok. Yay!
