Its command-line only at the moment, and the changes are controlled by a text file. Its being rewritten with a GUI but Ive had no time to do so in quite a while.

you have a lot of misinformed facts. Sonar doesnt scan the plugins everytime you start up. You just run the wrapper when you get anew plugin and it runs thru it ONCE. Thats it.
Actually, a new feature in Sonar 5 is that it does scan the plug-in folder on launch, no need to run the wrapper.
I'm glad the c major scale was invented before copyright law

Ok I tried the demo.

Issues: ASIO driver -- cannot even select my delta66, it's grayed out once I switch to ASIO mode.

What an amazing step forward this is. Of course the last experience I had was with 2 XL, so take that as you like, but it's really excellent program now. I have to say that alot of my complaints are moot points with the new version. The VST adapter is lightyears better than the one I had used before. Anyway, just reporting back like a good little idiot :)

One of the things I did not like about cubase (when I used it) was the need for specific drivers for my sound cards for cubase to recognise them.

I don’t seem to have that problem with Sonar

If you change modes, you need to relaunch Sonar.

Going to try rebooting.

I'd suggest pulling the GP and the 428 out in the meantime as well.

Why should I have to disconnect my equipment do you think? What would that do besides remove all other ASIO support besides the delta66? I want to continue using my US-428 and my GuitarPort ASIO drivers, so that isn't a very good work around for keeps.

If you think it will help for sure then I guess I can try it.

I find that my unit (M-Audio Ozonic) sometimes goes to sleep, and because its firewire I have to reboot the whole system to avoid hot-plugging dangers. Nothing to do with the software of course, but disconnecting and reconnecting the device can often solve problems in one easy stroke.

But the drivers work fine in FL Studio, Cubase, T2, even MiniHost by Tobybear... So I know it's not that. :( Also the Delta66 is a PCI card, it's not asleep. The GuitarPort works (just tried that to make sure) and is operating normally as is the US-428 in FL Studio and Cubase.

:help:

Using the latest M-Audio drivers, latest GuitarPort drivers, and latest US-428 drivers. Guitarport is flashed to altest firmware as well.
