95% of my f**ked up effects and pads eventually come from the granulizer! I could not do without.

to the guy who wanted a good sampler: Kontakt 2 is 179 bucks, so if you want a decent sampler, get a student friend/relative to buy it fer ya. ;-)

Does it do envelope tempo syncing?

Who would pay 179 for a sampler? what magic does it do?

well, i dont have kontakt so i cant say what it can do and what it cant.
However, i know that if you have good sample libraries, you can load them in kontakt as kontakt supports just about anything out there. Plus, it has disk streaming and stuff. not something you'd get from the average sampler.

That being said, if NI were to freely offer me any of their products, i'd choose Kontakt. The demos sound really good and the screenshots are pretty impressive.

Ahem...300 for a host like Cubase SX, Sonar 4PE, but not 179 for a sampler? I'm not saying its very cheap (the real version is like 400 something btw), but i'm saying its fair that they charge the students 179. I would be willing to pay that money if i had the money and i was looking for a sampler. :D
