1. i placed the shell2vst.exe into that directory.
2. i draged the waveshell onto the shell2vst.exe.
3. the shell2vst.exe created a folder with all dll's in it.
4. i removed the waveshell
5. i started logic.
6. the plugins didn't show up, not even the surrounding folder.
7. only a few cfg's were created when logic booted ...
I think the problem is that you removed the waveshell.dll. You can leave it in your vst folder without a problem.
another question:
i am thinking of buying the new g4000 channel of waves, if this works good with shell2vst.
will it work with different waveshells at a time (as over 5.0 waves doesn't support logic anymore)?
thanks for your help!
I tested here with waveshell 5.0 and 5.7.

thanks for your help, polac ... :)
still ... 2 problems:
1. it creates the plugins as desired, but when logic starts up, it only creates cfg's up to the "supertap dll" ... (that might be a problem by logic though, i remember waves not showing up when a lot of plugins are installed)
2. the no gui bug is still there ... some plugins still miss the gui sometimes ... they do open (and work, via logics own default gui only), but the window doesn't show any parameters ...

i downloaded the lates shell2vst from this thread.
unfortunately there is no version-number so i can't tell you which one i downloaded, but your d/l link remained the same, so i assume that if i downloaded within the last 10 minutes i got the last buildt ...
any idea?
thanks in advance ...

edit:
logic also still bothers me with the dropdown menue whiole launching, where it showes all waves plugins and wants me to select one ...

Hmm, I'm not familiar with Logic, sorry. Which waveshell version is used here?

Yes I replaced the old version.
logic also still bothers me with the dropdown menue whiole launching, where it showes all waves plugins and wants me to select one ...
So it seems that Logic always scans the waveshell.dll on startup. What you can do is to move the waveshell.dll out of your vst folder, let's say move it to c:\program files\waveshell. Then rerun the shell2vst.exe(drag the waveshell.dll) and move the newly created dlls back to your vst folder.

I simply like the guys, the support and everything... I think you can understand that . Especially if you come here often as I do.

I don't like L2 either :D. No pumping here. Everything K-14 or K-12 at the most here. At work... well, you know :hihi: [slam, bang, boom...]

Cheers!
If uspport is all you are worried about I can tell you waves support is second to none.

I'd also like to extend thanks to Polac for creating such an ingenious little tool for the WaveShell. Amazing that Waves themselves have never developed such a thing ages ago to support their customers using other hosts than Cubase/Nuendo.

Also, though it seems to be an abandoned project, I do want to say thank you for creating Chainer. Despite its age, I have never regretted the purchase and still use it to this day. I love the workflow and it's still amazingly compatible with most any plug-in I throw at it. :)

AWESOME!

Anyone used shell2vst on Wavs 5.9.7?

On my system it now takes like 10 minutes to scan all the Waves VST plugins whenever an app detects new VSTs.

Are others seeing this?

TIA
