New channel EQs! Yes! I'm liking what I'm reading here. I'm sure the familiar faces will piss on it, but what can you do.

Anyone got anything to spill on the new plugs.
Are they made by third party programmers and are any in fact something we all know and love (in the way that some previous plugs were)?

Oh man - of all the new features in SX 4, that is the least likely of them. There's been no demo since SX 1. If it means anything, I've written them several times, trying to talk them into it; but they always say they can't because of the dongle. Yay, dongle!VitaminD wrote:Any Demo Versions? SE4?
a picture is worth a thousand words.. but maybe a demo is worth 10 million...

Which is why I've never A) been able to demo Cubase B) known what I'm potentially missing.
(and none of the highstreet music stores seem to stock software sequencers any more and hence don't have them on show)
Maybe my hard earned money is just not good enough for Steinberg...

Does it say anywhere - does Cubase 4 Studio support offline fx? you know, right-click, plugins...render.
I have SL3 and this is my biggest gripe with it. Well, I guess I'll upgrade to Studio (99e) and then maybe later to the real mcCoy.

NOT AT ALL GUYS. The crazy operation I was mentioning were like trying to startup from a HD or CD that somehow isn't recognized, or inserting a CD that's not recognized. I have Logic Pro here, and I resize Windows, change screensets, etc. and no problems AT ALL. Somehow, I think you arew talking of something VERY OLD - like around two years ago. Right now, I think those problems are gone.ttoz wrote:EXACTLY what I also went through. repairng permission made it go into turbo jet modespaceman wrote:you should have heard my dual 2.7.. that's a flock of jumbo jets taking of ..several times per minutefmr wrote:I have a Power Mac G5 Quad Core, and I can't hear it - completely silent (except for some exceptional crazy operations that suddenly turn turbines on). Seriously.
No Core Audio overloads, either - using a MOTU 2408 MkIII with PCIe card
reason for the synchronised take off: I was resizing a windowhow stupid I was, I should have known that 'resizing a window' is just too much to ask from a computer. Although in all fairness, sometimes I was also checking email

How's the imac for noise??
Maybe you were straining your graphics too hard? Here I have a 20" monitor(CRT) running a 1600 x 1200. Perhaps you were running at extreme resolutions, or running two monitors?
Noy intereste in starting another Mac vs PC war - I'm a hybrid user, BTW.

Looks like SX users have no upgrade path to Cubase 4 Studio.
I skipped the SX3 upgrade, it cost as much for SX1 users as it did for SX2 users - seems like Steinberg got wiser now:

I know, SX does, SL doesn't. Question is: how does C4 Studio fo about it.autodafe wrote:mine too...cptgone wrote:my SX2 does...soulata wrote:Does it say anywhere - does Cubase 4 Studio support offline fx? you know, right-click, plugins...render.

It seems like Studio does, at least in the pool. It says so in the description of the pool in the media management section. inline editing seems to be available in Studio now as well.soulata wrote:autodafe wrote:
