Matto, so very true. I know that's why they still sell. But I won't be buying them. They just don't have the ability to be truly musical. That's why I've yet to hear of a decent jazz virtual instrument. Garritan's J&BB is ok, but it leaves a lot to be desired compared to the expressive capabilities of the Solo Stradivarius (which is based on samples but there is a technology applied to the samples so that they are phase-aligned).
Perhaps that's what Garritan should do next - apply this morphing ability to the Jazz, the big band library that is coming out, and the Advanced Personal Orchestra which I believe is still under development. They would win me over if they did this, but right now...forget it.

Hi,
If the 7CG piano is the/a right piano for you, perhaps you should buy it. All somewhat similar 'good' products have advantages and disadvantages when they are compared. It's however very hard to judge a virtual piano instrument from a few demonstration songs alone.
If you have good piano playing skills you can also do wonders with a 'crappy' piano soundfont and some added effects. The end result might sound better than a 'newby' using the most realistic virtual piano instrument ever.
So deciding on the product you might want to buy is a very personal matter.
In short if you totally lack good piano playing and mastering skills probably any piano related product will do to some extend.
Regarding the release date.. All I know is 'very soon'. About the price.. It's not known to the betatesters afaik.

While waiting for someone trying on clothes in the ladies department, I played with a couple of Casios that were on display in the store. I was shocked at how good the piano was. It sounded ok (hard to really tell in that environment, but still), and the action was actually really good.
I also played with a casio "WKS". I was jamming with a bass/drawbar split and one of the drumbeats.
Casio is not my cup of tea, but you could do worse.

I have posted in other threads that I was impressed with the piano action of the Casio 88 key piano. I may buy one and use it as a midi controller. I forgot he model number. I suppose they are all the same. My appreciation of the Casio is in comparison with other keyboards under $1200 I tested on several occasion. Its hard to believe that a Casio would be so good.

Wondering which will be last the true piano or energyXT 2.
Please wake me up when either arrives.

I just installed a new beta of the third module last night. It's coming on, but have no idea when it'll be ready.

I am sure the wait will be worth it for both the true pianos
and energyXT
. Time goes faster when sleeping, so wake me up when they arrive.

Ooooops! I meant hibernation rather than sleep. I will spend that winter in my den. Wake me up in the spring to witness the arrival of the true pianos and energyXT.

Then why don't they release a demo beta, even with a 5-note poly and a police siren going on every 3 secondsbluedad wrote:that's funny. trust me, truepianos is being worked on.Kalamata Kid wrote:Wondering which will be last the true piano or energyXT 2.
